Dude, i know what a optimist is..i raced them for 5 years. And if you were to race a laser with any other modern dinghy the opti would be left in the dust. They practically stop with each large wave they hit when beating to windward, and cant even plane when going off the wind. They just weren't designed very well. But if you were to change the bow and change the ratios of the rig they wouldn't be TOO bad, but they are just bathtubs. But like i said great for little kids learning.

I believe you are thinking of JY Trainers, which look very similar to optimists, but are made of heavy plastic and if capsized, will float without the aid of airbags. Although, if you, like many other people for some reason do, compare them to, say, lasers, they're on the slower side.

even so they cant even plane. They are slow no matter what modern racing dinghy that you compare them to. They are great learning boats though, they are just extremely slow, and still slow with prime conditions .

los delfines al igual q todos los animales son el tesoro de la naturaleza, este mundo es hermoso y mucha gente lo destruye. deberia ser todo lo contrario, animales, naturaleza y seres humanos ser uno mismo... lastima q aun cueste tanto entender esto y algunos aprovecharse :/
