How long is it until you can walk the dogs around the block after a toenail removal?
@judahyumul7562Ай бұрын
I did it after my first day. Normal workout just no running (for two weeks) and comfortable shoes with enough wiggle room for my toe. I think doctors prefer you do no activity do as it builds sweat and bacteria. If you do exercise, probably soak as soon as you can. I’ve only been able to do it every night.
@KiwiBrowneАй бұрын
@@judahyumul7562 the toenail removal went well. The doc found a shard of toenail tucked under and into the side of the toe which had actually been the real problem all along and never found by all the 5 other docs who did surgery on the toe to no avail. Terrible docs out there, don't have a clue what they're doing.

It’s so interesting all the different instructions. Mine said to soak it twice a day in Epsom salts until the redness goes down and gave me a hibiclens brush to gently brush the nail and use the antiseptic. Also he said to put bacitracin or mupirocin and cover with a bandaid. It’s been about a week and it’s healing, but I’m wondering when to stop the bandaid.

i had an ingrown toenail procedure done last monday 25th september (on my right big toe)...all was going good. no pain, no discomfort saw the nurse/gp 2 & 4 days after they were happy.. by the 5th day on saturday morning, i noticed yellow pus & bit of red blood in the dressing..still no pain. had me slightly concerned. sunday morning same again bit more pus the dressing. by sunday night my toe was pulsing a bit. by monday morning my whole foot was in bad pain mostly along the right side of my foot and underneath. couldnt walk on it at all. went to the hospital. they said nothing we can do see your gp. and gave me flucloxacilin. this morning the pain was 10x worse. went to the gp. they said its badly infected nothing they can do. its most likely cellulitis. i asked the gp can’t cellulitis result in amputation / life threatening sepsis..they said no thats impossible. saw the nurse in the gp office. she said my toes badly infected but the pain in my foot is unrelated cos i should be feeling pain on the left side of my right foot…not my right side..as the nerve from the toe goes straight down and not across? thing thing is had a minor toenail clipping done in july where it leaked a bit of blood i developed the same problem. pain in the same area on the right side of my right foot. that feels exactly the same as it does now, less than a week after a minor toenail clipping. i saw a different gp than. he said it was a sprain? even though i done nothing to sprain it. following 2-3 days it got worse. more noticeable swelling. so i went to hospital. where i sat in the waiting room for 15 hours because the head nurse didn’t know what to do for me until the doctor came in. he said it was a severe infection with bad cellulitis underneath the skin. and if i waited 3 or so days more. i could of ended up with sepsis in my bloodstream. or possibly needed amputation 🤯. so im very worried atm. as none of my local gp’s or hospitals seem to help.

@@not_potaytoes_hobbitI finally got tired of the stinging, I found soaking it in a tub with some warm water and Hibiclens soap for a few minutes felt way better. I got some individually packaged qtips from Amazon and very gently clean it with those after a few minutes soak, then use a clean cup to pour some more of the hibiclens water over the foot and run it under some lukewarm water for a couple of minutes before drying it off and rebandaging with some non-stick gauze pads and antibacterial ointment. I didn’t start soaking it in Epsom salts again until a few days ago once the super raw skin had healed because it was getting irritated from the salt solution. It took a bit longer for mine to heal though, I had to have mine worked on twice in a week and the first doc that worked on it took a small chunk of my nail bed. So that’s been fun.

I had ugly toes for 30 years. I did not want to take a pill that could damage my liver. You only have one liver. I tried a lot of home remedies on the internet, but nothing worked. Foot soaks,vicks, tea tree oil etc... I asked my doctor if there was a topical treatment that was effective. He prescribed a product called "Jublia".You just apply 5 minutes after your morning shower daily. It is working. The big thing for me was I also had heel cracks and there was always a whitish layer all over the folds and cracks on my feet. Within 2 months I noticed the heel cracks were gone and the skin on my feet renewed. I only applied the treatment to my toes. I figure that the toenail fungus actually spreads to other areas of your feet. Most of my toes have cleared up completely after about 3 months and I still have a bit on one big toe along with a thick discoloured nail, but I can see that 3/4 of that nail now has a normal pink colour and no discolouration. So for me, this stuff is working. It is not cheap $150.Cdn. for an 8ml bottle. But for me my drug plan covers it. I have gone through 2 bottles of this stuff and will renew the RX for a third bottle. From what I understand it takes 6 months to a year to finally get rid of the toe fungus infection.

I just got 2 ingrown nails out today July 3rd 2023 ( only the borders.) They wrapped them up in medical tape and advised me to remove it only after 24 hours has passed unless it was really necessary or comes off on its own, after that i must soak it daily in epsom salt and a clean "At home" foot spa is okay to use. And then just cover it with fabric bandages. Also they prescribed me a topical cream but that shit is $60.00 and medicaid does not cover it so i just grabbed a neurosporin instead cost me $8.00 the only thing with that is you have to keep the wound very clean.

IMO The first thing you want to do is to make sure you have someone else put this brace on for you, because it is almost impossible to do yourself if you have a bad back or other impairments. You also have to have a foot rest that is even with your sitting position. I personally hate this boot and don't recommend it!

Garlic is hands down the best and most effective method to remove toe nail fungus. Cut nail down to the quick, Crush garlic clove, wrap with gauze, cover with clean cotton socks and keep on overnight or as long as possible. Also pay attention to the diet: plant based and eliminate all processed foods if possible and reduce sugar to a bare minimum.
