@ I did some investigating and it’s completely different. You have to solder a jumper between 2 points on the upper half of the radio. It’s the same as the later version 2’s.

So I ordered the same radio last week and it will arrive tomorrow.I drive a truck otr and found out this is not a cd radio out of the box because it is a 10 band.This is how you convert to an 11 band for real?And what is the main difference in a 10 and 11?

Very strange when I look up the striker RS 955 HPC they say you have to solder wire onto two pads. This is much different.

@@paulsilva6543 that’s because they changed the design. This video is from the very first release of the version 2. They changed to soldering the wire shortly after. I never did another video on it because there were others. I may just remove this one because it may be confusing. Thanks!

Is this radio easy to convert to cb? And can I hook it up to the power wires in the truck overhead console? Do you sell them ready to go?

@@stevec2569 they are easy to convert. I have it in one of my videos or there are others. When you take the covers off there are only 2 regular type resistors side by side. Toward the front of the radio. With radio unplugged of course just snip those 2 resistors and with your finger just stand them up a little or completely remove, your choice. I don’t currently have any but I could check for you if interested. Thanks!

I have both. Anytone 6666 is good, but it's not in the same league as the FT-891. FT-891 noise reduction set to 15 when the band is super noisy, and it's mostly silence until you hear another station coming in crystal clear.

Squirlly recife with noise reduction on the dadiooitty qt 40 adjusts much better . I dint see kpo on anazon Thd anytone & quad 5 same radio Makes for a good cb radio once modded bad fod 10 m if you havd to reset whold thing

Noise commander has a war ly sound . The record on SSB compared to AM meter bangs up to high have to turn down the RF gain

Yes, it has several bands on the band selector. Goes from about 25 something MHz to 30 something MHz. So it covers 28 MHz. I’m licensed and use mine for 10m work occasionally

CB band is on 11 meter. These radios come from the factory on 10 meter. They are built so that you can pretty easily convert them to use on Cb band. That’s how they sell a lot of radios. They have a lot more features and better power output than you can get just buying a single band CB.

Yes the radio has a huge range from around 25.xxx MHz to 30.xxx MHz. 8 bands I believe from A-H. CB band is D band, lowers would be C and uppers would be E.

Now show us how to tune it a little. Maybe a little more power and modulation without creating a splatterbox :). I mean if its really possible. I have been dying to learn all about that stuff but it seems radio is a hobby not suited for the average joe, outside of simply putting up an antenna and taking in the mic. And the community has alot of toxicit. Not to mention scarce information, i can't seem to find answers to the kind of questions i have.

It isn't necessary. The radio is already tuned. Anyone who tells you different is a con artist trying to get your money for doing nothing. If you want more power just run a thicker power wire. Preventing a voltage drop will give you more power than tuning.

Getting my first Stryker radio soon...Admittedly a little confused.Some videos show them installing that same jumper you cut to convert them...I guess I actually need to see if my radio has it or doesn't when I get it...

I never used it personally. The person that owned it liked it ok tho. You can look up the specs online. I don’t remember off hand. Personally I’d get something else, not a ranger fan tho
