I'm not convinced you need dividers on a plate but if you do want to lay down lines of calk, I would suggest wetting your finger in water and smoothing down the calk lines so they are smooth. Also suggest you try the Target store for plates, some of their plates have dimpled rims about an inch in from the rim; those dimples form a sort of barrier for any paint you put above the dimples and you could then dip into it or brush it into the "mixing" area as you need it. Another good place for plates is Fish's Eddy in NYC; they have a lot of porcelain ware that could be hacked for oil/watercolor purposes.

I really love the kids one. I know how to draw as have been drawing and painting since a girl(self taught); but I appreciate books that have space to draw within the book itself. Thank you for showing these lovely books. Much appreciated! Que te vaya bien siempre.

Did help me work out how to open my new 45 colour box (didn’t want to force the lid open), but could have done it in one or two minutes. Lots of unnecessary talking and measuring and referring to other sets. But thank you, it did solve my problem. 👍😊

I think grumbacher is up there with the best professional grade paints and it mixes well, and the colors are vibrant more than other paints when dry

Does this book/watercolor pad have the same type of good watercolor paper as the Dana Fox book? (The birds book has hot press (very smooth paper) which I did not like). I prefer the heavier paper like Dana Fox books. Thank you.

Yes! I have the Dana Fox book too and enjoy it…i really like having light outline ready to go because I do not want to trace or pre draw …i just want to paint😁

You could write to the publishing company and ask why it turns out so thin compared to the others! Would be interesting to hear their reply.

I used a glue gun to make divided sections on small porcelain plates from the thrift shop. In the several years I 've used them have had to reinforce again.

I've enjoyed my set. Not crazy about fhe white. Love that it doesn't need ant attention. Enjoy

I need a number 3 for details with watercolors. Do you recommend these Da Vinci series 36 or go for a synthetic for a detail brush, please ?

I think hot press watercolor paper is supposed to be better for detail work? maybe thats why its used for the bird book.

I have both the Watercolor Flowers book and the Dana Fox book and love them! The light lines become invisible once you paint the pictures. I have used Gouache on them too. I will definitely try this bird pad.

The labelled palettes are the same. The OEM-producer of the palettes is the company fomearts (also known as fome) in Italy.
