Every bet you make at craps is a losing bet, except for taking odds after making a point which is exactly even odds. As noted in the video, place bets for 6 and 8 pay 7 to 6. However, they should pay 6 to 5 if it was an exactly even odds bet. The difference in payout is the house take on that bet. Making various other bets are all losing bets as far as house advantage goes.

@@OnPointCraps I'm a poker player, but I enjoy the excitement of a crowded craps table. I don't enjoy the losing 😢 As for volatility, I knew a guy who loved roulette. He would usually have 300+ chips in front of him at any time, and would basically have chips on almost every outcome. He always won something on each roll.

as well as hitting the point # and losing you can also loose on the don't during the come out roll if you hit an 7 or 11 on your first throw, but can win with 2 or 3, you could even edge the point # if you wanted, but i do like this strategy.

@@stevedaniels6490 not exactly. You can lay odds your bet like the pass line. It pays 1:2, 2:3, and 5:6 for 4/10, 5/9 and 6/8 respectively. The maximum odds you can lay depends on the casino. For an example, a $25 DP with $30 odds would pay $40 total on 4/10, $45 on 5/9 and $50 on 6/8. I hope that helps.

@@joenelson5439 thanks for the comment. This does have a lot of moving parts, but if you have a limited bankroll, it works well. Horn and hop bets can bleed you dry. It’s not too much to manage at the table. That is why I don’t drink at the table.

@@georgek9285 Thanks for the comment. What you stated is not true. The probability of 7 or 11 rolling is 8/36 or every 4.5 rolls. Statistically that is not how it happens at the time spent on the table. There are ways to hedge the come out, but that is a slow bleed I typically don’t do.

Here is my question as a new player: Do the amounts really matter? This says he is playing on a $10 Table……when I went to the casino they only $25 Tables. Can you still use this strategy and just play with the larger amounts? Instead of $40 Don’t Pass and $18 can the numbers just be higher and proportional?

@@blick5815 great question! The amounts matter for a few different reasons. Firstly, with the higher table minimums, you need a larger bankroll to play. Secondly, with lower table minimums, you were able to do more with your money, such as regression strategies. If you have the bankroll to play, the strategy can be scaled For higher table minimums.

@@blick5815 Thanks, I am glad I could help. Tactics don't change significantly. I created my channel to cater to the newer player or player with just a little extra cash they want to try and gamble. Things do change with higher bank roll. At the $10 table, I wouldn't hedge the comeout roll against the 7&11 but if I was playing at the $60 level on a $25 table, I probably would hedge. due to the potential loss. Just things to think about. 2 hours is a decent time to be at the table. The longer you are there, the more likely you are to lose. The house always has the edge. They hardest part about craps is walking away when you are up. Even if it is only a few dollars.

I've watched craps from a distance for years and had no clue but after watching a bunch of your videos I was comfortable enough to enjoy myself. I will go back and try again.....one of the long-term tactics just to get used to what is going on. I will say, watching the videos is different than when there are multiple players and things going on.......more focus needed to understand and track..... You will start to learn to read tables and get a feel for how to bet. Ultimately it is gambling and there is no guarantee to win, but there are definitely safer ways to play.

Nice work Mike! I feel a 60 DP with a 30 odds is a better bet and the reason is the return on investment is much greater. Max odds requires a lot of miss outs to win money IMV.

If this was a $25 min table, you wouldn't be able to regress. You would need 4 extra wins to make up the $66 inside on regression if big red shows. Might be better to not regress but take all down.

The reason I made that noise is because I had been asked to keep track of how often I got a "straight" when I dumped the bowl. I was one dice away from a 1,2,3,4,5. It had nothing to do with superstition and was all about being close but no cigar.

Yes. If the point gets hit, you will lose the DP. The point of the strategy is that you are betting on the strongest numbers. If 6 or 8 are the point, I bet the next outside number.

I just saw this video and like it but would also protect the come out on any Big Red especially if it hit a couple times. I think your starting bank roll was $300 not $400 and that is why your profit seemed light at the end given all the "5" and "8" rolled. Only other big hole is if point is hit consistently which can happen with hot shooter.
