Rum and milk can be good but not like that. I usually do 1.5oz cold whole milk, 1.5oz light rum (i like plantation 3*), 1/4oz strawberry real syrup, shaken furiously over ice to froth the milk, then served up. Quite delightful. Alternatively, you can swap the strawberry syrup for 6 dashes of angostura cacao bitters

Well, I've got EW Black, 1783, Larceny Small Batch, Elijah Craig Small Batch, and Makers Mark. Having tasted them all, none of them blow away the black label. They are arguably better, but definitely not double-the-price better. All are good and drinkable, but the Elijah Craig might be the only one I'd pay extra for.

I'm mainly a Scotch drinker but my favorite gin is the Seagrams Extra Dry on the Rocks. It's a lot cheaper than the Bombay Sapphire which is not half bad. Oh and I avoid any of the Amsterdams. The Watermelon is horrid and is not even close to tasting like it''s bitter rind...let alone the sweet pink interior part. Thanks for taking the time to sample these.

There is so much used bottle of that ginebra gin here in the Philippines other manufacturers start to use their bottle to package all sort of liquids like solvent, rubber cement, glue and stuff. . they dont even try to remove the brand so you will see Ginebra on the bottle for a liquid varnish.

love my white label, my go-to , I like it quite a bit more than the 1783. As a college student 200 ml of the black label gets me where I need to go before I hit the bar for a five dollar bill and some change.

I agree with your results. Evan Williams BIB is a great value. You can find a better bourbon, and you can find a cheaper bourbon. I have never found a better cheaper bourbon than Evan White label BiB. I haven't actually tried the Heaven Hill Bottled in Bond because of the price difference. I suspect it may be the same juice with a couple more years in the barrel. I found that the Single barrel and 1783 were not to my liking. I tend to drink a lot of higher proof bourbons, so the Evan Williams black label is just too watered down for my taste. Kind of like drinking bourbon after your ice cube melted.

Your anecdotal evidence proves nothing. Sorry. Perhaps you need a third party, or you need to do a blind taste test. But you think it's okay and everything smells/tastes the same, tells more about you than the quality of the vermouth.

In my late teens and early 20s, JD was regarded as something you would treat yourself with. 10-15 years later, ive tried a fair few whiskeys and not JD for a long time. I got a bottle of JD for new years eve on sale and my god is it simply awful. No smell, no flavor, just a burn. I would describe it is like drinking accelerant of some kind. I have not felt a burn from a spirit since I was a teenager. Many pedestrian whiskeys like jamesons and tullamore dew are leagues ahead. Wtf

@@DrinkingWithTony, The standard Evan Williams you had there (the "black label," as they call it) has a better flavor than that Bottled In Bond Evan Williams that was recommended. One of the reasons for the better flavor is that the black label is aged longer than the Bottled In Bond.

13:05 This thing is popular all over Europe and a preferred way to drink beer in the summer for many people.. In England it is called shandy, in Germany it is called "Alsterwasser" in the north, and "Radler" in the south.. But it has to be sprite or something similar tasting.. Otherwise it is something different! Coke tastes more horrible.. Also, without ice, but mixed with icecold sprite and beer 13:50 The foam up part is where it got the name I think. It is a way to revive "expired" beer or beer that was open for too long. After the Menthos, the foam looks like its freshly opened
