We have some crash tested harnesses (can’t remember what brand they are ) but they came with a seatbelt fabric style tether that has 2 very strong caribiner clips so I am assuming they would be safe Unfortunately we don’t always have a spare seat for both of my dogs so I have axkidd car seat tethers around the seat that go underneath the seat then I loop the supplied clips with the harness round them I appreciate it’s not going to be as safe as the dogs being on a seat but sadly our family life doesn’t cater for this :(

I was expecting to see a comparison between those two in terms of car safety. This video does not offer this information. It basically does nothing in terms of comparing these products.

My dog can lie down but can’t get back up and she seems super uncomfortable. I am not sure if she is wearing it wrong or not. How can I tell?

what size are the harnesses?

Hi! They run from small to xlarge, but it'll depend on your dog's girth. The harnesses will fit for a dog 16.5 inches up to 40 inches. You can find more sizing details here: www.dogsridecertified.com/shop. Thanks!

My dog is wriggling out of my sleepypod. I had the tether AND the seatbelt on him because of this... How can I stop him from wriggling out of this? He is a 95 pound Goldendoodle that hates riding in the car. He tries to get in the front seat. That's why I MUST figure out the best way to restrain him.

Hi Jaci, Sorry to hear you're having trouble with keeping your dog in the harness! First, you'll need to make sure the harness is adjusted tight enough around his body. You should be able to get 3 fingers flat underneath the straps. But the big thing is training. Since he hates riding in the car, the anxiety around the car ride is triggering all the movement = escaping. Would you like to set up a call or meet and greet (if you're local) to talk some more about this? Email me, I'd love to help you get your dog riding safely and calmly in the car! [email protected]

How do the two compare in the car? Im leaning towards the Terrain but heard it’s less comfortable for the dog in the car when laying down.

Hi! You can't go wrong with either on, as long as the harness is the proper fit for your pup. For both, the seatbelt goes through the harness the same way, and your dog should still be able to sit up, lay down, turn left and right.
