You make some good points but on several points I disagree. Yes, ipad still has some advantage in apps. But the Pixel tablet can force apps to run in full screen solving most of this problem and making it work better than the ipad for some often used apps. And sure, we are in kind of a in between two assistent technologies, where you have both the Google Assistent and Gemini. But either of them is sooo much better than Siri, so if anything, that is a reason to avoid the iPad. Gemini by now has gotten most of the abilities of the GA. Also, you can use both side by side until Gemini makes GA completely obsolete.

The dude just realized he is so famous that even if 1000 people bought his shitty app subscription he would still be making a ton of passive income every year to buy more Porches or whatever, what he didn’t realized is that he was going to take a huge hit to his reputation, the release of this horrible cash grab attempt just reveals his hypocrisy going against many of the things he is been saying for years on his videos while criticizing other people’s products. I unsubscribed from his channel and his podcast a while back, I’d much rather watch smaller creators who are more down to earth and have less of an incentive to be biased like he is.

BTW $50/yr is just an introductory price, it's supposed to go to $80/yr, and monthly subscription apparently briefly was $16 but got changed so quickly that almost nobody saw it (info from the Verge). This really doesn't feel like Marquez, but I think he's been changing a lot over a couple of years: he's got a team, and a huge studio, and a whole separate channel about AVs, and a podcast with up to 3 ads in a row in it, etc, etc, etc. So I guess this is just where he is at now. Oh and another nitpicky thing -- the SD version of every wallpaper (available after watching two 30s ads initially) is just 1920x1080, despite every single phone on the market now having a screen taller than 16:9 and thus more than 1920 pixels in height (iPhones have weird resolutions but they are also bigger now). Which means that the SD version is basically a preview that you'd actually use as a wallpaper only if you are fine with screenshotting a preview and using it as a wallpaper. PS -- loving the channel, and the iphone video is totally fine for this format, I'd never notice if you didn't mention it

As a long-long time user of Google Home I agree that not having scenes is bonkers. I get that they are a subset of routines, and maybe there needs to just be a better interface for setting states for everything,, but the current system is wildly bad. The interesting thing though is that there are separate scenes in ghome vocabulary, but it's for scenes from other apps. So if I have a bunch of xiaomi smart bulbs I'd add them to a xiaomi smart home app (that is a complete smart home app by itself), create scenes in it, then connect xiaomi smart home app to the google home app, and then I'd be able to activate those scenes with a google home smart speaker. And yes dear reader you are correct -- while this is a powerful ability it's even more bonkers.

Wow I'm surprised at how small this channel is, this is a pretty solid tech review. Not a Google Home user, but as someone who's used Android tablets for around 12 years at this point, the fact that apps aren't really optimized for tablets is on point. Among social media, Meta is the worst offender, like their apps are just the smartphone version but bigger, which makes for a very awkward experience.

as a frugal person. I got this for less than $200 by getting it stand alone, and getting a $400 off with a trade in of a iPad 6th gen (google is no longer doing this). for that price, it was a great budget tablet. for $400 (or $500 with the dock), nah. your right. can't even play fortnite.++

Love listening to Apple music over speakeers, but Spotify over headphones. I know it doesn't make sense, but there is a disco/dance EQ setting on Spotify that makes my music choices more enjoyable to listen to on headphones, but I find a little greater detail/clarity when listening to Apple music on my speakers.

Thank you for the “to the point” review! Can’t say how much that helps…I’ve seen other reviews of different things and some posters ramble before actually getting to the review. Definitely just sticking to my kindle as I can’t justify a $300+ item that does exactly what a kindle does with the exception of more techy options.

I’m currently using the Bose Soundlink Max. I’m very impressed with the sound.

I love Sonos products. Respectfully, Sonos could have been a true competitor of the AirPods Max. The soundstage on the Aces are linear and “tinny” .. I was disappointed and sent them back. Maybe they will release a firmware update the improve the soundstage. I enjoy my AirPods Max

I think the Bose flex , Marshall's Emberton and Sonos roam 2 are all highly over rated and just meh...I ended up selling all of mine because I always found myself going to the soundcore motion 500 the spatial audio it's just a richer fuller listening experience on a daily basis.
