Just bought one a month ago, and the biggest surprise was how well it handles, and what an absolute rocket it is. I've had muscle cars come up behind me and be annoying, pin it and they just disappear in the rear view mirror. Pisses them off too because they come ripping by maybe 10- 15 seconds later at a high speed, because they couldn't stand the fact that a model Y with a surfboard on the top, and an e-bike mounted on the back just absolutely trounced them. Let's not get into the big, "fast" truck guys--it's pathetic. Yes, I do live in a good old boy area. However there are lots of Teslas now in the area. Judging from the various encounters I've had with what seems like automobile ideologues, it seems to be driving certain people a little nutsy. Okay I love the car. However I did not love the delivery process. I paid a delivery fee, and Tesla delivered it to Bend Oregon, their local service center, which is a 8-hour round trip drive from my location. Also there was a problem with the driver side mirror, which was fixed within 15 minutes, but it required me to go to the service center in Bend. I live near Medford Oregon which is a 100,000 plus city, so I found that to be an unpleasant surprise that there wasn't mobile service available, and the delivery was not a delivery. I did like the service at the service center, the people were wonderful. Those that make policy for the company and have decided that they can't spring for a small service center down an industrial area in Medford, not so much.

Great review, as a person that's in the middle, i would go with the model y to try one out. Probably would lease first to see how i like it and keep my ICE vehicles just incase. Still need my truck for towing the ATVs and side×side, and dump trailer. Some people unfortunately are strictly for one side or the other.

I wanted to wait for a refresh initially, but after that demo drive, my impatience kicked in to high gear 😂. That, and the 0.99% APR deal at the time was too good to pass on. Either way, you’re going to love it.

@@TeslaOG_Official I was looking at an XC40 or GLA but the second I saw that 1.99% APR for a Y, I did a full 180. How do you find the safety features of the car? I’ve hit way too many potholes and need a car that won’t break as easily as my current one.

I agree. Getting a Tesla seems more like getting a Samsung than getting an iPhone. Especially since there are some Samsung made elements to the vehicle if I'm not mistaken.

To confirm, it was a Samsung Blackjack II running Windows Mobile 6 back in like 2009. Upgrading to the iPhone 3G was a life changing experience for me at the time 😂

I initially placed an order for the rear wheel drive, but never received next steps for financing. Then the delivery date kept getting pushed back. Maybe I was a bit impatient, but would have been nice to have gotten a dedicated sales rep to be available to answer question especially after the order was placed.

Our biggest was the trade in value on our old vehicle. They did all the numbers with a hypothetical price for our trade in and so that threw us off. If you don’t have that then everything else was pretty straight forward on the Tesla.

I just went today and got the 2024 Model Y AWD estimate. I have a 2017 Ford explorer sport with 75,000 miles and they will give me 13,000 for it. The Tesla is Red (I think that’s like 2,000 more) (Bigger rims/More) and has the tow hitch. With the 7,500 tax credit the payment came out to 630. My credit score is over 750. Insurance quote was approx 150.

Just took delivery of my model y 2 weeks ago. What made it easier for me was that we went in to the Tesla store and a got assigned with a service rep there. He made sure everything went smoothly and was available for questions. He made sure our financing and loan was approved before delivery.

Quicksilver Model Y, UV Tints and White seats, it doesn’t get any better. Seats are super comfortable and who needs ventilated seats when you cool off the car before getting in. I live in S FL so I would know.. BUY NOW people, do not wait for the “refresh” nonsense!!

Naw I’m a hater! Or I was. After researching my potential savings I’m gonna have to get me one. I spend at most $800 a month in gas with my v8 which I absolutely love but it’s a completely unnecessary waste of funds 😂 After renting a Tesla I realized that it’s literally just a damn car with a different source of power. I just talk 🗑️ for the trolling lol and I’ve always thought the model Y was a good looking car

Wow, $800 is quite the monthly spend on gas. Your electricity bill will go up depending on how much you charge your car daily, however, will definitely be less than what you’re spending on gas that’s for sure. I recommend getting quotes with local electrician to see how much they will charge you for installing the outlet you will need for the charger you end up going with. It caught me a bit off guard, but I ended up paying around $900 for the outlet because of my current wall panel setup.

I agree with you on the Front seats being too tight! We owned a 2001 Model Y and seats were much more comfortable and didn't feel as tight as our new 2024 Model Y; my legs actually fall asleep during long drives in the 2024 whereas they never did in the 2021. I now use a pillow on the bottom of the seat for long drives (keeps the back of my legs up higher off the front of seat bolstering that was reducing circulation) and problem is solved. Overall, we love the Model Y.

Glad to know it's not just me! May have to try the pillow for the long drives. I was hoping that maybe I just needed to "break" the seats in since it was a new car, but still feels the same after 3 months.

@@TeslaOG_Officialthe seats really should soften up, or at least they can. I bought a MYP at the the of April and then got my wife one at the beginning of June. Mine has 7500 miles and the seats feel way way softer than hers do now at 2000 miles, while her seats feel tight like mine did when I bought it. I will note a couple factors, I'm a large guy(6'6" 220) and I do sit in my car for an hour a day on my lunch. So they can break in and get softer but probably takes time and size in the seat. I honestly don't like taking my wife's car because the seats are still factory stiff so I get it 100%.
