Seems to be the usual format with juggling of phrases but does not deliver on firstly the importance and development of the concept needed for going ahead with design process .Elements like byelawsor regulations can only produce boxes and not architecture. It is wrongly titled asconcept design workflow without identifying the concept in the first place at all !! The word concept unnecessarily gets mixed up with work flow which seems to be routine without any new insights at all. All in all it appers to lack focus a d definitely needs a higher professional and critical approach. Hope things will get better .

(00:00) The concept of trying to make designs flawless can actually increase the likelihood of failure; perfection may be dangerous in design. (00:37) Nassim Taleb's book Antifragile introduces the idea that some systems don't just survive chaos but actually grow stronger from it. (01:00) In design, constant small failures are essential for innovation, similar to how muscles grow stronger from stress and tears. (01:18) Designs, like muscles, need real-world problems and stress to become more robust, with examples like Google's Material Design evolving through failures and iterations. (02:00) Resilient systems not only handle stress but overcompensate for it, such as Gothic architecture's flying buttresses that helped buildings survive for centuries. (02:39) Design systems should be built with redundancy and capacity to handle future, unforeseen needs, like Spotify's adaptable design system. (03:00) Optimizing designs for perfection makes them fragile, as seen with Instagram's evolution from a photo-sharing app to a flexible platform with features like stories and shopping. (03:19) The most resilient designs include slack in the system, allowing them to handle chaos and change. (03:40) Practical steps to apply antifragile principles: stress test your designs from day one, build flexibility into components, and embrace imperfection as a feature. (04:03) The ideal design in a constantly changing world isn't the one that never fails, but the one that improves through small, continual failures.

Right on! Building a portfolio website has been a real journey. I started with Wix, found it a bit limiting, switched to Adobe, but then lost access to my student account. Now, after two weeks of experimenting with Framer and Webflow, I can confirm-it’s definitely a learning curve! I’d always wondered if Notion could work for this, and this video on LinkedIn finally gave me the validation I needed. Thank you, Ali!

Hello, does the thesis topic/typology taken during the architecture course decide the firms/companies I'll be getting jobs in?
@DesignHustle
@DesignHustle 4 ай бұрын
Unfortunately yes-we live in a superficial world where we need to hedge some of our bets. However, I would advice you to just go with what you are passionate about because you will end up doing a good job with that. In the end, what matters is how you solved a problem. Be thorough, be practical in your solutions and display a good command of your skillset and leave the rest to the forces that be. You can only control the process. Hope it helped.

Does UX design lean more towards graphic or visual communication design, given its focus on the digital realm rather than architectural structures? Additionally, is UX design typically associated with architectural professions?
@DesignHustle
@DesignHustle 9 ай бұрын
UX (user experience) tends to focus more on designing user journeys through a digital product-more akin to spatial planning in architecture. UI (user interface) tends to lean more towards the visual aspect of design-the look and feel of it all. In general, people refer to us as UI/UX designers. Ux is not associated with the architectural profession, however, I learnt that architects can use the help of UX designers to design immersive experiences. Hope it helps!

It makes sense to climb a bridge to cross the lava . In other words taking an action and stepping out of your comfort zone is necessary to see what’s on the other side of the bridge. Beautifully explained.
