Even in golf you are guaranteed some kind of action, PROGRESS, with every stroke. The "perfect game" for fans of baseball is a game in which almost nothing happens and only one point is scored. Yes, very exciting. JFC. Lmfao.

All American sports are a variation of British sports. Americans invented them to be different. But if you look closely, baseball is a take on cricket (but even more closely resembles another English sport called rounders). Gridiron is a take on rugby. Ice hockey is a version of field hockey but played on ice. Basketball takes after netball. You can also argue basketball took its principles from soccer. They just changed it from a sport played with feet to hands.

Baseball seems like it was designed for a bygone era. It’s not really suited to the hustle and bustle of modern day. I can imagine people sitting at the ball park and enjoying the games in the 1930s-70s because they had so little else to do, but after that it’s started becoming less relevant as more forms of entertainment became available and pace of life got much faster.

All spectator sport aside from maybe extreme sports can float into the background over the course of a match. I enjoy going to rugby or soccer matches but there are usually some periods usually over halfway through where your focus starts to drift a little. Overall still a good easygoing day out. Which is why people go. The most excited people are the really passionate fans that treat winning and losing like a really big deal.

If baseball has to be much more exciting except the catcher all other player should play without wearing gloves in their hand as majority of times we can see that if a batter hits the ball and before he reaches the first base he gets out as the shot offered by a batter is easily stopped by both the fielder and the fielder at the first base easily as they are using gloves in their hand , baseball game can be more exciting by playing without wearing gloves by fielders except the catcher. The fielder also easily stops the ball using the gloves and most of the catches taken by the fileders are meaningless , if they stop wearing gloves the fileders athleticism in stopping the ball and catching the ball by barehands will improve and it will be much more exciting and scoring patterns also will improve drastically.

Why this comment section gotta make it seem like such sports are at war with one another. I love baseball, cricket, football, american football etc. I’ll admit there’s issues with each of them but from these comments there’s clearly a lot of ignorance and a lack of critical assessment over why each sport is good or bad. with baseball especially, so many people just straight up lie about the myth that it’s only popular in the US which is statistically not true at all (it’s global appeal is slightly less but quite close to cricket based on number of competitive nations in different global regions). nobody is also talking about how the MLB just implemented a series of rule changes reducing the game times to about 3 hours total, which isn’t much slower than “fast” sports like basketball now (who’s final 5 minutes have become tediously long cuz of replay and timeout hoarding). games are literally faster than T20 cricket now cuz of these changes and the density of action play has greatly increased because of the pitch clock and timeout limits. I was the biggest critic of baseball for the past ten years and I can see it with my eyes that it’s gonna grow in popularity again to younger audiences because of the many steps the baseball community has taken to improve the sport

@@kitarokun6564 T20 is great, Test cricket is way too long and we have to be honest with ourselves here that the traditional game is not appealing at all to younger fans. As for baseball the new pitch clock rules this year brought the average game time to about 3 hours now (it feels way faster), which is now significantly ahead of the 3.5-4hr timespan of a T20 match. Both sports are great and there’s things from both MLB and IPL to take note of

I'd rather watch some kids on the block playing amateur baseball with fast-paced than this shit lmao. Only Basketball and Football, both amateur and professional, have similar degree of enjoyment since they can be scaled down in size and don't need much equipment other than the ball itself.

Basketball is 90% refs calling fouls for on defenders for brushing up against a player on offense, see even the sports you take a liking to can be deduced as boring with a distorted view point

agree this is a generation of short attention span and love to see high power offenses in any sport. football and basketball have adjusted their games to this. Baseball did that a generation earlier but illegally through the use of steroids.
