i also got the dreamline in .25, i have been shooting the jsb exact and exact heavy 25 and 33grains for a long time. But with heavy wind and at 100 meters they did not group as nice as i woud like, so i went down the rabbit hole of slugs and buying a chrono. Running the fx hybrids 26grains at 950fps, works well for me. what projectiles are you shooting? slugs or pellets?
@UncleChuckApproved7 ай бұрын
I experienced the same, and shoot the jsb heavy and 1 inch groups at 50 yards, 1 inch at 100 yards but wind would throw pellets everywhere. I added heavier hammer, large plenum which is a little larger than two plenums to bring up velocity I have several weight NSA slugs, hybrid, H&N and couldn't group well. I am using 600mm barrel, carbon fiber sleeve with barrel spacers at the end, so I bought the slug barrel with a sleeve, spacers, nut and o-rings to be able to change without removing the scope. Sadly I have not been able to change and shoot the new barrel. I am able to shoot 36 grain NSA slugs at 1050 FPS.

The best lubricant for this gun is silicone grease, not silicone oil, but the actual silicone grease (it lasts longer). Use a q tip and work a small amount onto where the bolt handle reciprocates (above the grip) the sides of the shaft that moves the pellet into the chamber, and on the barrel shaft where the piston travels. These are the three components that cycles the gun, and I've noticed as long as they are clean and lubed with the grease, the gun should work properly. The side rod that connects the front piston to the bolt handle doesn't appear have a need for lubrication, so as long as its kept clean and free from dirt - that should be all it needs.

Great video! from what I've read and seen on youtube, the HP assassin .30 generates the same or very similar FPE as in .25 caliber. Could be?
@UncleChuckApproved Жыл бұрын
FPE goes up with weight of projectile/caliber a longer barrel helps keep velocity up with bigger bore, I really like .25 for higher velocity and less drop in trajectory out to 70/100 yards. I don't hunt so FPE in not my primary concern, I will shoot a few birds or squirrels but that's it, but this thing will decimate rabbit size game.

Apparently you do not understand dieseling. The vapor pressure and flashpoint of flammable liquids (oils and greases) can detonate under pressure known as dieseling. So what is it you looked up, bud? By crack barrel are you referring to spring piston airguns? Don't think just goggle, wtf does that mean? Wow
@dickdyson3100 Жыл бұрын
@@UncleChuckApproved Yes but look it up it doesn't work with PCP's they are compressed air not air being compressed and heating up air while doing so. Air already compressed really is cold. My gun is cold while my Dad's is Hot and his is a .30 cal crack barrel and after 10 shots hot gun.
@UncleChuckApproved Жыл бұрын
@Dick Dyson I guess I can attempt to explain the science of autoignition here, if you have low flashpoint high volatile lubricants exposed to a pressure they can combust known as autoingnition. For instance diesel engines combust fuel by injecting fuel into an already compressed cylinder, there is no magic of the piston that causes ignition it is the pressure. I will give another example, at what temperature does water boil? That question is incomplete, at what pressure completes the question because water below 20 torr will boil at 70 degrees F. Vapor pressure etc etc etc. Spring piston airguns for a fraction of a second make very high pressure, much greater than pcp airguns, they are more likely to autoignite hydrocarbon based lubricants because of the very high pressure. But if you were to put WD40 a very low flashpoint volatile substance in a cylinder and pressurize it, it will autoignite, combust (diesel). Think, goggle, think some more, learn share teach, learn some more.

@@UncleChuckApproved It's fine, being wrong is wrong. I own my PCP and a crack barrel . PCP's don't diesel

@@UncleChuckApproved There's not one video with all the AEA air rifles and PCP rifles showing dieseling but only crack barrels , why? Show me a video with someone dieseling pcp guns OVER crack barrels. When you find this out and then do the research instead of assuming and thinking ,since compressed air equals always explosion when adding oil cause of combusting with pressure vs compressing air as fast as you can just might be a differences in sciences bud. Let it go, we are all wrong at some point. Hell, I was wrong about it as well, Not smarter by no means, just wiser now cause I do research on the daily about things. Do you know why these airguns make a ping sound when fired? Does it involve the hammer and valve pin? The semi-auto cycling piston? How do you think we can dampen this sound?
@UncleChuckApproved Жыл бұрын
High pressure cylinder causes pinging, one method is to install a bottle brush inside the air cylinder, some people have had problems with pieces of the brush coming a part fouling the valve, many others run this problem free. I do not have much noise with carbon fiber cylinder.

So Sad the website you list is currently out of metal magazines for the .25 but thanks so much for the tip i look forward to acquiring one.

Is there no way to cycle the magazine manually ?
@UncleChuckApproved2 жыл бұрын
Not really, it is semi-auto, so after you pull the bolt back to load the first round, high pressure air cycles the action, which in turn the spring turns the magazine.
@intractablemaskvpmGy2 жыл бұрын
When I got my first AEA (.25) my reaction was that the magazines were of poor quality. I took one apart. The spring is crap. The magazines for the .30 are of similar quality. While both of my rifles have the magnet none of the magazines have the corresponding metal disk. Also be careful if you own different calibers the magazines fit on either rifle. Unknowingly I put a .30 into the .25 easily and wondered why it wouldn't fire! It disgusts me that this company decided to cheap out on the magazines when the rest of the platform looks so well built. And the replacements are overpriced for what you get. I like the idea of the metal aftermarket magazines. Also, I have some ideas on improving the magazine and tripling its capacity. Thanks for the info

They're not even in stock most times I've checked. Doesn't make me wanna drop $600+ on a hp ss plus or the carbine when I hear all the issues with the magazines and know they only come with 1 or 2 magazines in the box.

@@UncleChuckApproved I don't think it's an issue that Bin at AEA will try to fix. He's already moved on with the S45 and I think the HP SS series is discontinued as there aren't many for sale now at the dealers. And I can't find the metal magazines for sale. Evidently, the magazines are similar with the S45, but I saw a guy here on YT that printed up some stick magazines that actually work better than the rotary.
