The politeness and cooperative nature of the Japanese people are cultivated through nine years of elementary and junior high school education. The origins of this education can be traced back to the education of the samurai during the Edo period, so it has a history of around 400 years. The reason why the education of the samurai during the Edo period was passed on to school education is that many of the politicians in the early Meiji period were from the samurai class.

I would feel at home in Canada. The difference between people in the US and people in Canada might be similar to the differences between the Swiss and the Germans: Sometimes Germans are perceived as rather rude and obnoxious, even if they mean no harm. It’s just our different ways of asking for something… „please“ and „thank you“ are used more freely in Switzerland than in Germany

I noticed that everyone is cordial and kind. Nice change of pace from New York. I recall a story that made the news. Someone broke into a house in Canada when nobody was home…….and cleaned it.

I just love these videos, especially after trying to make sense of news/current events. They set me right again. The anthropomorphism which once upon a time was a serious offense, now adds more closeness and humor. Such good work. Thanks for the cheer. 😊
