Very nice setup. Similar to what I and a friend are using. We are using large Bill Woods wooden Conical Horns (which will soon have bronze cast throats with JBL 2440, Radian diaphragms crossing around 350 hz to a similar slightly smaller (to your Peavey FH1) Klipsch Belle style bass horns, Crites 15 inch bass drivers. With a little bit of eq flat to low 30's in the bass. Around 105 db efficient. The midrange horn crosses to a 9 element diaphragm Coral horn super tweeter being driven with amazing sounding Audio Antiquary power amp (based on Klangfilm circuit, almost nothing in the signal with driver tube, massive interstage transformer, output tube, output transformer). Preamps are either new Shindo Monbrison (the good sounding one) or Siemens c3g Audio Antiquary pre (again with interstage and massive output transformer). Hard to go back to a smaller horn system (more regular speakers) after hearing these. No cupped hands colouration hearing mine in person so yours might be a microphone / recording artefact. I also have lots of different open baffles and they are great but for me they are not big horns.

MF is darker sounding, better bass , denon is "light"sounding, no weihgt .. sometimes its a good thing specialy for classsica music.

If you have no problems, I will do the same. I have JBL 2441. Thanks for your help. You are using the JBL 2440 correct?

@@bobbystefano no, is custom made from baltic birch by local master. fostex is at ~9.5 khz crossed 2nd order. For JBL 2440 330hz is ok if you use 2nd order crossover,. microphone dont show any resonanses is low hz region.1st order has resonanses in 300hz region , so bad for sound. i use it for no more than 1watt. so driver is safe.

sadly Iphone 15 Pro Max records a very mufled ,dull sound :( samsung S23 ultra was way better . but i still prefer transistor sound with horns, more energetic, more clear sound. Tubes are better with vocals offcourse. tweeter is T500mk2

Samsung S23 Ultra has much better mics, more real to actual what is in room, Iphone 15pro max has blurry sotf sound, highs are cut

Thanks for sharing this, but I will never understand some music choices. That piece had too few frequencies to test anything properly except maybe a big subwoofer. And I love the Tannoy sound.

its just some random song recorded. i wanted to show this track has no low freqencies. as many audiophiles play this with sub., and destroys original intention of artist. its bass light track,no sub sonics are present.

Other than the woman sounds like she's standing inside a wooden box while singing they are nice and clear. You should hear them on my system and you would see what I'm talking about. I have open baffles.

I personaly do not like OB, they have some good things.. but everytime i listened to them i disliked them. Maybe they were bad speakers.. but thats my expirience with OB

@@vismantasbagdonas4699 They were indeed bad speakers It took me 2 years to get these to sound the way they do. I run 3" fostex for the top end, 15" PRV Alto's for the Mids and have Dayton 12" subs on the bottom.and like I said years of trying different things but eventually I hit the trifecta that satisfied my ears and I haven't changed them in 7 years.

Sound is identical to denon pma S1. Not very tubey,more like transistor, to a brighter side. With better tubes its a lot sweeter and better. Good bass control,good highs. With better coupling caps it would be a lot better... overal for its price its very good.

@@vismantasbagdonas4699 ams35i visada man buvo irgi įdomus, esu skaitęs , kad garsas geras, bet taip nepasitaikė proga nusipirkti. Pakankamai reti jie. Skaičiau , kad ir problemų turėję techninių( pvz. sukepdavo saugiklių lizdai viduje ir t.t.). Dar nuo Sugden A21SE kai turėjau, ieškojau sekančio AMS35i..., bet nusipirkau Sugden IA-4 kuris realiai nelabai patiko. Mano skoniui IA-4 per šviesus buvo. A21SE labiau prilipo.

51x51x84, port 46x4 , depth of port 14 cm , this driver dont play lower that 33 hz. midrange is good, clear. inside better not add any wool or foam.ir makes sound slow and dull
