@@SheediaJansen bu fla [or (fra) or dizé] sigo: "Mim gosta des cantiga. Parce cantiga di antigamente di Coração. Am ta comprende mas fácil ora qui bo screbe sigo". Basically you said: I love that song. It sounds like the old songs from Curaçao. it's easier for me to understand, when you write ( like that?) Ps. Take into account the fact that there are nine populated islands in Cape Verde and each one of them has its own accent and some vocabulary variation. We all understand one another perfectly well. But we can tell which island one is from . Also some synonyms are more common than others in certain islands. Some words are falling in disuse. For instance, the word 'ora' means 'when' but 'quando' is more common in that sense. But if you are asking what time it is, ( qui Hora é?) then 'hora' is the proper word. We tend to spell hora with an 'h' to reflect its portuguese root and the h is silent. But there are no rules as far as spelling. Only freedom. Lol 😂 we write like it sounds. Portuguese is our official language. Criolo is what we speak at home and among ourselves. If course another thing to consider is that there are many ways of sayng the same thing . And I was toldtha6 Papiamentu is like a chameleon language because you also can draw vocabulary from whatever languages best help you communicate with someone. So if you used words based in deutsch I probably would have more difficulty understanding you. Other than that, nos lingua é quasi igual!
