That's a hell of a big puppy for 9 weeks. Normally they're just leaving their mom at 8.

The footage from 3:15 to 3:50 is amazing. The calm steady crouch & crawl is as natural to him as breathing. Wonderful to see.

Nothing to do with those great dogs, but why do you see sheep with half their fleece sheared ? I've seen it a bit.
@RealFarknMcCoy4 жыл бұрын
These sheep are a semi-domesticated breed, which shed their wool naturally. They don't have to be shorn.

He doesn't know why he's controlling them yet but he just learnt the power of the stare and stance ! Oh and dad is a gun ! Herding dogs, the most beautiful man /dog connection !

obviously I know nothing, but wouldn't taking the blinkers off while training, especially the back up be better? at least the horse could see where you want him to back.

We have a border collie here in western south dakota usa, he is now 4 but is a pet, the breeder on the other side of the state has a big cattle ranch and did not think our guy would be a good herder, so we got him, and we just love him so very much, we have an acreage so can keep him busy, he is so darned smart and also very loving. He is some handsome, his name is Riley.

Watched some Aussie videos with working border collies, and twice the herders said they have to watch the dogs carefully. Australia's heat can be brutal and the dogs, they said, "will run themselves to death." So the herders frequenter call the dogs, make them lay in some shade, drink water, and pant out all the body heat they've built up! The dogs love working.

People talk and explain what is unique about Border Collies. Then cool footage of adult dogs herding sheep in the Emerald green mountains of a British Isle and the shepherd with a cool accent saying how great these dogs are. And he couldn't do this without 'em. This video captures that visually. Little pup has natural instincts. I want to watch Babe again! LOL

Fantastic video!!! I really enjoy seeing a horse who is learning, seeing the mistakes it has and seeing how to just continue the training. Great showing a horse who is scared and how to work through it, instead of watching a perfectly trained horse which makes people think if their horse isn't perfect, they must be doing something wrong! It's a process! Well done and Thank You! Best video ever!
