Diagonals - it's how you a band knows how to march. MSU and OSU seem to have it down pat, unlike other bands.

The Hotel in the video is The Westin in Southfield MI. I wish I had enough battery to film around the hotel. It was a very nice hotel and the bed was very comfortable

I will have to agree. Although MSU's is not horrible. The MSU band can be good at times too. However, Michigan and OSU's band is the best in the country. The MSU fight song is un-inspiring, no heart or soul.

Lol MSU's Drumline is the best in the country by far. No other drumline in the country produces more high level DCI athletes than MSU. I will give UofM and OSU credit though, OSU has the best drill design in the Big10 and Michigan has some really cool show ideas (Performing with Wynton this year and that 9-11 show last year) along with their drumline features, but neither of them have the same musical talent and sound power as MSU. OSU and Michigan need microphones to be heard, whereas MSU doesn't. Skull session 2019 OSU v MSU, OSU had to plug their ears because of how loud MSU was. You can definitely argue that OSU and UofM look cooler, but saying they're better is a bit uninformed. I'm all for people showing their support for their favorite bands, but your comment really shows that you don't know much about how drumlines even operate. Also you felt the need to make that comment on a video about the MSU drumline why? Keep supporting your favorite band on their videos, no need to try to insult other bands on their videos.

@@Brassafrass I am a Music Minor and played in the Michigan MB for 5 years. You are like most casual marching band fans. You think volume is quality. It isn't. Volume is really not much of a consideration actually. In every competition I have been in since the 5th grade, volume is NEVER a consideration. Michigan's Drum line is superior to MSU and OSU as well. The quality of the rhythm is what makes a great Drum Line. MSU has so rhythm or soul. I understand you like MSU and you should be happy with your band. However, it is not even close to UM or OSU.

@@thonatim5321 You're completely wrong about volume never being a part of competitions. Remember dynamics? Yeah, that's volume if you don't remember. Volume is a part of sound quality, which is a part of your musical evaluations. You say we don't have soul, but dynamics are literally what gives music character and soul. Dynamics are a huge portion of grading, as seen in the Music/General Effect categories in DCI. If there's no dynamic contrast, there's no soul. If the piece doesn't climax with a wall of sound, it loses its effectiveness. You should know this being a music minor. You should also know that having a minor in music doesn't mean you're right. It's a minor, not a major. Nor is it a masters or a PhD. You say the UofM drumline is better and that we have no soul, yet argue that Volume isn't soul and have nothing to back up your claim about UofM being better. Sounds pretty hypocritical to me. I've made my claim about MSU producing more DCI athletes, but you said we don't have rhythm or soul. Pretty sure you need rhythm and soul for DCI. Also, without rhythm, bands would fall apart, and MSU never falls apart or comes anywhere close to it, so to say we have no rhythm is just factually inaccurate. You're basing your claims off of emotion rather than actual stats. I'm all for people having their favorite bands, but just because you have a favorite band, doesn't mean that's the best band.

Im not a fan of the new song they come out onto the field with. Lacks energy in the stadium. If they want to use the new song, use it when team is coming into the tunnel and use thunderstruck to get the crowed pumped when coming onto the field

we couldn't get the name of the place we ate at up there at Anekeesta when filming, but it's called Anekeesta smokehouse. Pulled pork was awesome and she had something that was good as well. Corn was dry/no flavor. Sides are very good servings!

We loved staying here at this hotel! it was close to a lot of things downtown including Anekeesta and Riply's aquarium. Only down side was pool was small(even though we didn't use it)

2 hours before kickoff. To get a good spot behind the statue, I would get there half hour before that.
