Which one should you get first, the first Prelude expansion or this Prelude 2 expansion?
@ChimueIslas11 күн бұрын
Your lack of excitement makes me think I should get something like Optimus 2, instead. I mean, something that has a bit strategy.

If you guys cut down on the cheese factor, including the music, I'd assume this channel is doing better. It's adults buying these games for themselves or for children.

Got this as a christmas gift from a friend and while not the worst game ever it was clunky, unintuitive, and surprisingly hard to figure the rules out. It has earned the dubious honor of being the first game I've culled from my collection.
@darbyl387218 күн бұрын
This one is clever, in a good way. You should try to predict what others will bid on, but anyone can play without tracking opponent moves. I don't have an opinion on the theme. It just works. This is a keeper for me, because of how unique the bidding and scoring.

It’s beyond frustrating not being able to find the games I want locally or on amazon. It makes me want to stop watching content. Want but can’t have is a brickwall to impulse spending..prob for the best I guess.

I saw this game on clearance for $10. The back of the box reminded me of King of Tokyo a bit with it's player boards and dice. The blurb and the hexes made me think it was more of a resources collection game. As soon you mentioned player elimination I was glad I didn't pick it up. Thanks for the review!

Why put the components from the expansions in the main tray when the bottom one is designed for those components? 🤔
@PartyTailsАй бұрын
Don’t remember our reasoning at the time. But now we’re using the bottom trays for the new milestones and awards punch outs.

That answers my main question which is are they actual glasses... bit dissapointed, as tbh if theyre just plastic cups I it seems somewhat overpriced for what is a fun little, quite litterally, 'beer and pretzels' kinda game :( Looks fun enough that Id pick it up if I see it on sale but going rate seems to be about 50 quid at the moment which Id have said was fair for a full set of 6 proper glasses but screw that for plastic cups.
@PartyTailsАй бұрын
Definitely a little pricey. But can understand them not wanting to fulfill to thousands of backers with glass cups and have them break before delivery.
@JLvatronАй бұрын
Just played it tonight. The rules were not complicated, but the details got forgotten by some players. My son forgot the unachieved Destination Tickets deduct points, so he played too aggressively. We'll have a better feel after playing a 2nd or 3rd time, but it looks promising as a staple game in our house.
@SmoothGummiАй бұрын
Was this a new copy? I was first in line to get this as GenCon 2023 and I see that your player boards still have the same misprint if it’s new. It says “3nd” under the trees. Thirned 😂 That being said, the game was heavily promoted by Panda is 2023 and then seemingly vanished, but my group really enjoyed the dice manipulation. Fun times. 7.5/10
@PartyTailsАй бұрын
We got this copy at Gen Con too - preordered and picked up. We are just now getting to unbox it. It was sitting on our shelf of shame for quite a while.

This review (as well as most reviews of Kelp) seems to forget about the backside of the board that as the night side, featuring different zone values and starting positions for te shark.
@PartyTailsАй бұрын
We did mention the night side in the review but didn’t go great in depth with it as we feel the mini expansions do a better job of changing the gameplay than the night side board does.

People (including myself) had made their own Milestones and Awards module a long time ago and some clever people created this great site to randomize them in a way that reduces synergies (ie makes sure that they support a range of card strategies). I highly recommend using it. Thanks for the review!

Oof. Gonna have to agree with most of the commenters here and say that you guys largely missed the point of this game. There's another game that's somewhat similar to this called Word Slam, where you're trying to convey something but you're limited to pre selected words with no "filler" words. That limitation is the crux of the game. It's what makes it challenging, interesting, and almost always funny, all at the same time. But you're right, this video is still helpful as it will likely keep others who also wouldn't get the point of this game from purchasing it 🤷
@PartyTailsАй бұрын
In Word Slam, is each player given the same words and it’s player judge? And the judge chooses the best usage of the words? Or does each player receive different words?
@RatherFarfetchdАй бұрын
Looks cool, the tower is definitely the selling point. Guess it depends on the price point depending on whether I would purchase it. Great vid guys!
@PartyTailsАй бұрын
Thanks! Yes, finding it at a discounted price would definitely increase our desire to purchase it just for the uniqueness of the tower. Not sure if it was included in any holiday sales this year.

Depends on what you’re looking for in a card game that you’re going to purchase.
@BonnieSchroeder-u6d2 ай бұрын
The reviewer totally missed the point of this game. Not having all the right words is what makes it funny.
@SanDiegoNico2 ай бұрын
I think the point of this game (and the fun of it) comes in making abstract sentences to try and communicate your message. Having full sentence capability would completely remove the challenge and humor out of the game.
@suzanneklaczak2613Ай бұрын
Exactly when the one guy said you needed smaller words I’m like no!!!! that’s the fun of the game!
@boardgameaddict-q9g2 ай бұрын
when the card play order is under dispute, you should set a resolution order. Whoever played the lowest score card in the recent round that player sorts out the "!" instant card, and the next, player, than next player, etc... If the played card in the recent round is the same than the player starts who is most behind the game. If both on the same place same than the player who were the last in previous round. If no previous round before that round than maybe play "sudden death" to settle who starts. Another way to settle "whoever placed the card first on the table (the played who declared the card first) I hope this house rules can settle debates
