Hi Hemant, Thank you for your inquiry on the Citect SCADA Connector - Please see AVEVA’s response below, Our recommendation is that the Connector is installed on, or is as close as possible to, the Citect SCADA node/s because the Connector includes store-and-forward capabilities to provide continuous data in the event of an intermittent break in communications. If the Connector is located on the Historian node, a break in communications would also prevent its ability to collect/store data from Citect SCADA, and therefore the store-and-forward mechanism will not be utilized. While Citect SCADA maintains local historic storage for Trend & Alarm Tags, it does NOT maintain local storage of Variable Tags and therefore data for Variable Tags needs to be stored in the Connector's store-and-forward buffer so it can be transferred to AVEVA Historian after a break in communications. Yes, the Alias also works for Historian Insight browser client (on-premises), but it requires Historian 2017 Update 2 or later
