Why did Concordia fail? Finances, certainly, but why did the financial situation get so bleak? Concordia Bronxville forgot its mission. Concordia was a college of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, but how did that play out in terms of the programs it offered, faculty it hired, students it enrolled, and culture it inculcated. As a recent (within the past decade) Bronxville grad and current LCMS pastor, I witnessed non-Christians preaching in chapel. I witnessed open communion. I witnessed rostered religion faculty persecute confessional students. I witnessed sex between students and open drug use. I witnessed Concordia become "just another" regional college serving the New York metropolitan area. In that regard, Concordia deserved to fail. Why should the Synod have maintained a college that had drifted so far from its mission? It's a shame that debt was allowed to pile so high - had the LCMS or the Atlantic District been able to benefit from the sale of the physical plant, seminary education at St. Louis or Fort Wayne, or even church work education at the other Concordias could have been endowed in perpetuity. Or a good many churches could have been planted in NYC and throughout the Northeast. But President Schultz allowed the decline to begin, President George allowed the debt to pile up, President Nunes couldn't turn things around, and the Synod was left with no legacy from which the Gospel could be proclaimed. The real tragedy is that Concordia could have been so much more! President Russell Dawn at River Forest and Bernard Bull at Seward are blazing trails as intentionally Conservative and Christian universities, faithful to their mission and faithful to their Lord. Even the Preuses are thinking creatively with their Wyoming project. Imagine those models placed a train ride away from Manhattan! Bronxville could well have become the Hillsdale of the East, attracting students from across the nation to study at a unique college - intentionally Christian in the heart of the West's biggest metropolis. Alas, the campus has been sold, and "just another" of the "just another" regional colleges has taken over. Concordia deserved to fail. But it remains a shame that it did. Let this be a lesson to the remaining Concordias!

41:17 That didn't age well sadly. I have been watching Vice and other Journalist on Post US Afghanistan. And, as of right now 20 years of work are almost GONE. The biggest factor of Modern Day Leadership both military and civilian government is that ineptitude, a lack of common sense, and the check the box mentality on both the big and small picture of whatever operation you're in, will lead to "Cluster Fucks" up and down the chain. For the military leadership Major and above, they need to acknowledge that PVT-1SG Snuffy and 2LT-CPT Lost Hope who have been beaten to shit or have family problems back home literally spend their time and get out. Not everyone has the same mindset to be in the military for 10+ years and those who do need to have their mental health checked especially with today's military. Yes, it sucks for literally every role. However, those who have become higher leadership with years of experience, need to be in touch with those "EMBRACING THE SUCK" and their prerogatives, or else it will lead their subordinates to failure. Rank serves its purpose, but those with experience are TOO OFTEN dismissed by those with rank who want quick and easy solutions versus giving time to figure out a decent COA (If there even is any in some circumstances). Sometimes you have to just accept the situation is SNAFU, and that's when you get those who rise up doing with what little they can. And those who jump ship or give into atrocities. Reminder, war is hell. People may have seconds to make a decision where we look back at it with all the time in the world. My personal opinion on the failures of Iraq and Afghanistan is that we invested too little into trying to fix an ideology. Afghanistan is now ran by the Taliban and have near complete rule as of 06NOV2022. Nearly every soldier, junior officer, and commander there did what they could. But overall, there was next to nothing the US Military could have done given the limitations it had. In mine and many people's perspectives, it was the lack of understanding and care that we as a nation we're trying to fight an idea believed by tribes hell bent on their principles (no matter how barbaric they are). Nearly everyone who served did their best and got their shit kicked in regardless. Hell, even the United Kingdoms and Russia we're not able to reform Iraq or Afghanistan yet here we try and fail. We need to learn as a nation what are capabilities are, and what we can and can't do. We devoted so much to Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan yet we got our asses kicked in the long run. We're gonna fall into the same trap of an endless conflict/war again unless so major changes to how we operate as a nation is looked at. Going back to the video, how do we fix that for at least the military so we don't have anymore Mai Lais and Black Hearts? We won't ever be able to get rid of them because war is hell. But, we can start by mitigating the causes of them by taking care of the well being of our soldiers, officers, commanders, and hell even the general populace's well being.

to me;{ we appreciate your time and effort today to interview with us. We do plan to move forward with other qualified RNs for this and other positions and will no longer be considering your candidacy, Again, thanks so much.} I instinctively thought about reply and could notice that there was no specific reason describe and no politeness. I am all of time of my life to dedicated in the hospital and currently work in agent for the same position. THEN .I starts to keep thinking of what is this and happen to me, and learned that from Professor Min Jin Lee. Min jin Lee stood up now because the peoples around in this USA in very special people and certain level of peoples are do not know nothing about who Asians are and they do not have knowledges about who Asians are, and sure they must to be learned about what are Asians' cultures where mention that what is a basic IMPORTANT concept for living in community at least it is needed to be known a respect................................................. I COULD KEEP THINKING OF THESE AMPTY and no MEANINGFUL SENTENCE...... THEN I WOULD LOVE TO PUT HERE TO BE KNOWN TO EVERYONE. I've been living IN U.S.A. over 30 yrs with been worked inside acute care at medical field 25 yrs where my daily working place is highest stressful fast path area, and I dedicated all of my life. I am proud of to learn about how important of a community services include of specially homeless people, young boys has gun shot, alcoholism diagnosis by many immigrants, and wound care patients. Now I has currently experience is home health care which assigned by daily basis visit clients home. I interviewed exactly same level of position in the same specialized job in this company, then they just reject me. By what is reason for? To be honestly I could say and acknowledged that Because of my accent different from them? It makes them feel [emotional way] uncomfortable or they pick up seems like a broken word from me if it there---all of the way of talk within it was to feel uncomfortable[emotionally] to them? UNCOMFORTABILITY is nothing affect to work. I would love to open this toward to public. Is this a racisms and discriminations from them ,isn't it?. The Pro Lee is right to say that and I am over 100 % comprehensible of the way of her thought. They are seeking the perfect person as like a machinery worker or work like a Robot for their company. Instead of that I am a human being with possessed a powerful knowledges and Heroic, Romantic, and more. Thanks

@@killdude26 it’s always been that way, 2010 isn’t that long ago 2000 was like that, it’s been that way at least since the mid eighties . If you don’t have a urinalysis it’s more difficult to prove but if the command can prove it without lab evidence, you’re getting the max.

Nowadays, it's a counseling, with either a pause in promotion opportunities, or a single reduction in rank (E-3 back to E-2), assuming of course that it's a first-time offense.

This was heartbreaking. This poor woman could have had a full and happy life were she diagnosed sooner. Very sad. Yet, it seems to me, were the doctors to have enforced psychological care upon her in her later years it might have traumatized her. And while she clearly needed treatment, and would have greatly benefited from it - she resisted discussing it, and therefore didn't want it. To the person with severe mental health issues they are advocating for their own health in their way, even though we can see their way isn't healthy. At a point sometimes we have to respect our loved ones' right to their own lives - even when their choices/decisions are destroying them - and help them in whatever way and to whatever extent they are willing to let us while continuing to pursue medical care options for them. And praying they will one day accept the help.

I enjoyed Mr. Caputo's presentation on the book, covering how he was drawn to the subject, how he researched it, and some of what he was trying to do. He twice mentioned the often repeated thought that such writing required showing not telling. I think, when an author has managed that showing of something that satisfies his own imagination; much of the pleasure for the reader might be recognition of its truth to himself as well.
