To be fair, cats didn't have dark vision either, but they are far better at seeing in the dark than wolves. Technically dark vision is the ability to see with absolutely no light, not just in very low light conditions.

Because darkvision and low light vision are two different things. Wolves need a minimum amount of light to be able to see. Put them in a room or cave with zero light and they can't see shit. The have low light vision. Darkvision allows you to see in total darkness.

Every animal in existence has low light vision. Every single one. You mean to tell me this entire time, Darkvision meant you can see with literally 0 light sources at all? The online sources I could find say it works in „dim light“ which would make A LOT more sense.

@@gama2064 darkvision allows you to see darkness as dim light and dim light as normal light. Animals with low light vision only have the latter part, not the former one

Wolves can't see in the dark. Most animals can't. They have excellent vision in low light conditions, but seeing in a pitch black cave is a different thing.

And I'm not gonna go watch the full video to find the information if they don't want to put it in the short.
