This generation of kids don't move very much do they? I'm a stage DJ, and things are way different than I remember my last 20 years of clubbing. People just standing around now, awkwardly bobbing heads. What happened? There's typically nothing to watch when a DJ performs, we just stand there turning knobs- that's why you're supposed to come to dance your ass off. Before I was a DJ, I remember it being extremely awkward dancing around people that weren't.

Hiroko literally set the theme with that Nitzer Ebb song for the rest of the festival. Then following that track up after with Depeche Mode the week Alan died, AMAZING. That's when I knew my trip to Detroit was not gonna be a disappointment.

Not sure if anyone knows Rod Model (deepchord/echospace), but he is a dub/ambient techno legend from Detroit and I saw him walking thru the crowd as you panned from the underground to outside about half way thru.. ive ran into him before at the festival.. wish I could have seen him again!
