Maybe it’s called Navy Coffee because they use salt water for the coffee instead of fresh, so it’s salty. I don’t know, just a theory.

This morning around 8AM, my 20 pound Jack Russell terrier (who was on a leash) and I were attacked by a pit bull (named Bella who was not on a leash) on the East Palisades Trail at the Chattahoochee River. I thought we were going to die when it happened - but we were not hurt. I had already picked up my dog and was trying to shelter her in my arms, when the pit bull knocked us to the ground. The owner was able to get her off before more damage was done. This is the reason it's against the law to have your dog off leash anywhere - on any trail - even in the water - within the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area.

@@simonacastellano711 When I met my Calabrese in-laws I had trouble trying to figure out their dialect. This was one of the dishes that helped me decipher their pronunciation. Drop all final vowels. Use voiced consonants for unvoiced ones. Sweet pie (Pizza Dolce) became "beets doltch" and meat pie (Pizza Chiena) became "beets gain." Thank you for clearing up the spelling of Chiena for me. I had always thought it was a gross mispronunciation of "carne." Grandma Zito would be smiling. In my husband's family it was cooked in a pie pan with a short pie crust.

Two other costs I have remembered... the entrance exam for my program was the TEAS test and cost me around $85. I also am required to have an analog watch with second hand. Your choice in watch will determine the cost. I’m trying out a Casio that only costs $12 and seeing how it holds up. 😊. If I think of any more fees I will list them below!

Another fee... if you have college or high school transcripts and your school charges you to send out copies, factor that in! I think mine were $10/each from the two colleges I attended. There was also an application fee for the college I'm attending (not for the nursing program itself, just a general application fee for all students). That was $25.

Here is the original curried chili recipe: www.thedefineddish.com/curried-chili/ And the amazing butter chicken recipe: twosleevers.com/instant-pot-butter-chicken/ My combined recipe: - throw all of the following into your crockpot... About 1.3 lb of ground beef (I portion out ground beef from a bulk container so am not exactly sure how much I used) One diced onion Minced garlic to taste (I used six cloves) One 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes One 14.5 oz can tomato sauce One can of garbanzo beans 1 tsp of each of the following: Salt Cumin Turmeric Paprika Ground ginger Granulated garlic Garam masala 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper I also ended up adding about 1 cup of water and 1 beef bouillon cube. This might not be necessary for you if you prefer a thicker chili. Cook it all for at least four hours.

I've been here several times with my wife and it's always a hoot. No one here is going to try and convert you into believing, or get you to believe anything you don't want to believe. It's just a lot of facts and stories, and really it's up to you to make your own decision on, but either way, it's fun for the whole family. Well worth the price of admission.

Quick marinara sauce: One large can of crushed tomatoes (I think they’re 28 oz) One small can of diced tomatoes (14 ounces) Six cloves of garlic Extra Virgin olive oil Salt Red pepper flakes 1) 2 tbsp of olive oil in pan on medium 2) mince garlic 3) once oil is warm, add garlic to pan and cook until lightly browned 4) add both cans of tomatoes 5) add about 1/3 of a cup of olive oil 6) add salt and red pepper flakes to taste 7) simmer for at least 20 minutes Note, a good amount of olive oil and salt is what makes a tasty marinara. Do not use cheap oil, and only use olive oil. Do not skimp on salt either. I haven’t mentioned an amount because I never measure and salt is such a subjective ingredient. Suffice to say I add it directly from the salt container as using a shaker would take too long for the amount of salt I end up adding. 😂 If making pasta, be sure to add salt to the boiling water too. It adds flavor! Also, add a bit of olive oil to the boiling water as it will keep the pasta from sticking together while cooking. Last, after draining pasta, return it to the pan and add an entire stick of butter for one pound of pasta. Mix it in so it completely coats the pasta before you add any tomato sauce. ❤️

Also, my mom only uses tuttorosso tomatoes. It’s like the law. But I only had the Aldi canned tomatoes this week and I thought the sauce was still delicious. BUT it is important that you use tomatoes you like for your sauce. Even though they are all supposed to just be plain canned tomatoes, they all end up having different flavors.

Such a fantastic visit. We drove by this museum for the first time about three years ago on our way to Downtown Blue Ridge. Ever since then I have wanted to visit. It did not disappoint at all. Reasonably priced and fantastically exhibited. You will see tracks, remains, scat, sights, sounds... all presented in an interesting way! And did I mention the gift shop is fabulous? We came home with t-shirts, stickers and patches. 😊 Note, I didn’t show you everything in the museum. By request of the purveyors, full video tours are discouraged. They want you to visit after all! And you should! A visit to the museum, with a side trip to Blue Ridge or Ellijay and it’s a fantastic day trip into the north Georgia mountains!

My rankings of Atlanta museums: 1) High Museum of Art 2) Atlanta History Center 3) World of Coca-Cola (if that counts as a museum 😊) Also totally awesome... the SCAD Museum of Fashion and Center for Puppetry Arts. Which one is your favorite? Does the aquarium count? 😁 If so, that might take the number one spot. ❤️

My top pieces of advice: 1) Have enough time in your life to commit to this course. 2) Make your own flash cards that you can carry with you all the time to study (I have studied in the grocery store checkout line 😊). 3) Utilize alternative methods outside of class (crash course, coloring books, etc) 4) Your study habits from when you were a kid will probably be your study habits now. Adjust accordingly. 😊😊😊 I was the oldest student in my class. I hadn’t been in a course like this in over 20 years. I have been there. YOU CAN DO THIS! Good luck!

I suspect this won’t get to you in time, but just in case... for the math, it was pretty basic stuff. Know how to calculate area of basic shapes. Know how to work with fractions. Reading? No real tips as they just give you passages that you must read and then answer questions about. Science? Review kidneys, endocrine, digestion... I also had lots of general science questions which were kind of annoying. English? Review grammar, especially commas, capitalization and where to put punctuation in relation to quotation marks. GOOD LUCK!

We did make a short clip about our impressions of the hike. Unfortunately, it was really a tad too dark to use. The tree canopy made filming difficult in general. Suffice to say, we both enjoyed the path very much and look forward to returning. There is a bamboo forest portion that we would like to see next time! If you have folks visiting the area who like to hike, but you don’t want to travel further into the mountains or state parks, this is a fantastic option ITP.
