Nitrating toluene with nitric and sulfuric acid then further nitrating the resulting mono-nitrotoluene (MNT) to dinitrotoluene (DNT) after removing the nitromethane to prevent further nitrating CH3NO2 (which would be very dangerous). After which, the final step requires fuming nitric acid in the nitration. Assuming you haven't blown yourself up already, you have yourself some trinitrotoluene! Scale this up to roughly 20 molar, and this gives you a theoretical yield of 1,848 grams, nearly 2 kg.

Scratch my previous reply. Forgot dynamite is nitroglycerin, not TNT. Synthesis is much simpler, but more dangerous as nitroglycerin is a very sensitive and powerful contact explosive. Simply nitrating glycerin found at your local pharmacy with a mixture of sulfuric and nitric acid would do it though.

@@WendigoPsycho Why are you teaching people to create explosives who don't understand anything about it? They will kill themselves! And maybe they will injure others!
