I can't seem to figure out how to control the gimbal with Just the Beacon. Did I miss that in your video?

I don't believe you can control the gimbal with the beacon itself, only with the app or joysticks unfortunately. Maybe in a future update? Thanks very much for watching and the question.

Do you like Active hose or Yamatic hose? Also, Active foam cannon or MJJC? Thanks.
@BenInBetaКүн бұрын
I'll be doing the comparison video as soon as it warms back up, but I do like the Active Hose, but being it's 2 times the price of the Yamatic it's a harder sell than the foam cannon. I'll try to verify this in testing, but I think because of the greater diameter it puts out more water. For $5 more than the MJCC I'd have no issue recommending that instead. I like the wider base and it puts out a ton of foam. The MJCC is really solid too though. I'm not upset that I purchased the whole accessory kit as they are all very high quality.

Hey, I just bought and had the same wheels installed at Discount Tire. The lug nuts they installed stick out from the wheel about an inch, did you have any issues with your lug nuts and have to special order ones that fit better?

Nice Ben! Thanks for the shoutout 🤝 Since it was the first time you used the brush and tires are new, a couple more sprays of the DIY detail and you would’ve had an even nicer finish. I have been pleasantly surprised with it myself, even after trying so many different ones. I really dig the wheels and tires you put in your truck. I personally like small wheels and big tires like that. The racks you have in the trunk also makes it look much better nice touch. My goal for my next vehicle is gonna be F150 and I also plan on putting at least some 33’s or 35s on it. Good job, keep it up 👍🏻

I've had a couple of issues with android auto as well. Primarily if i use remote start, it will not connect when I get in the truck. In any other situation where it isn't connecting, I've found that getting into the connected devices settings and toggling the "use for android auto" option usually forces it to connect. This did not work with my remote start issue though.

Thanks, Ben. So if you were buying this today, would you say Beacon is a key ingredient or not? FYI - my use case is video only from a drone perspective as b-roll
@BenInBeta3 күн бұрын
If you're just using it for your videos that you're doing like your Bruce's garage stuff, I don't think you need the beacon for that. I think you'll be fine without it. To be honest, if you're going to be going out in the wilderness or something like that where you need a lot more distance away from form your drone then I think it's a little bit different but I think for what you'd probably use it for I would just start with that. You can always add it later on

Finally figured out how to merge the audio and video in post. But the start time(in the file names) of the matching audio and video files does not always match. (Video would say 5:22 and the matching audio file would say 5:20). This is a pain in the neck. Can’t wait till they fix it. One other thing you did not mention is being to switch between photo and video on the beacon. Looks like the beacon defaults to still photo mode when manual flight mode is selected, all the other flight modes the recording mode is video. I have not been able to figure out how to select video recording mode from the beacon when in manual flight mode. This is easy to do when using the Hover app on iphone instead of Beacon.
@BenInBeta4 күн бұрын
Thanks for that information as well. I've been waiting for the new firmware from late last week, but it hasn't come through yet. Manually merging audio isn't fun for sure. Thanks for watching!
@19ab59Күн бұрын
On the beacon it should be in video in default. Then when I start recording the icon for taking a photo appears next to the record button. Just like you can see in his video. I've the Pro with beacon and joysticks and use it a lot for manual flights as well. With you joysticks connected you can also charge the beacon with the supplies charger.

I’m in the market for a camper shell. There really aren’t many reviews out there of all the different brands. I’m not interested in spending a fortune on an overlanding level camper. Just watertight, lockable, windows that don’t leak and keeps dust out.
@BenInBeta5 күн бұрын
Nice there are a few of those on the market, I think the Smart Cap Evo is one like that and the Kuat system is lockable. I don't think it's completely water and dust proof though.

Very few videos out on the X1ProMax. This was very good. Looking forward to the next one on the beacon. I cannot figure out how to get the audio out of the beacon and be stitched automatically with the video files the way it works when you record using the Hover App on the iPhone. I found somewhere that is still a manual process. That you have to go into the file system on the drone (build in or add on SSD) and pull the audio files from audio folder. Seems like audio recording should work through the beacon the same way it works through the phone Hover app.
@BenInBeta6 күн бұрын
First, thanks for watching and the comments. You are correct the files are saved on the internal storage of the drone in an audio folder. You have to download them separately and they don't filter any prop noise right now. HoverAir said this will work the same as it does with the app in a future update, but didn't give a timeline. Thanks for watching!

This was very helpful. I am in negotiations on a 2024 TRD off road w/ PP and a 2025 with Upgrade package only + 14" screen. I am putting a Four wheel pop up Fleet camper on. (Will be doing a coil spring upgrade.) Still unclear on any differences btw 2024 and 2025. Will the FWC interfere with many of the cameras or digital mirror in your opinion? When you add in and get only that $2600 difference if moonroof too makes a lot of sense. And didn't know about terrain camera, pretty useful feature I think. This is my bird hunting/ ski rig. Thank you
@BenInBeta9 күн бұрын
First, congratulations 🎉! That's awesome. I think with the camper you will probably block your cameras. They won't be able to use them most likely unless there's a pass-through window or something like that that you can see through the camper. I don't know those campers very well, so I'm not entirely sure. I've been able to put my tent above the cameras so far and I've still been able to use them. The cameras are in the back of the cab so if it would block the top of the cab then you're probably not going to be able to use them at all. So if that's a concern of I don't need the premium package because of that. That might be a way to save some money, but the other upgrades that premium package are pretty nice too. The only thing that I'm not loving so far honestly is the power tailgate. It sticks a lot and I honestly would rather have had just a dampened tailgate that just works every time. It's nice, but I don't like the fact that it sticks so that can be a pain sometimes. Anyway, I know you'll love the truck. Either way, let me know how it goes and which one you get

You can see how we learned the correct dilutions, and how I was able to apply it in the end to my truck properly because of what I learned.
