Bob Hope visited my high school friend in the hospital after his leg was amputated from stepping on a "toe-popper" land mine.

Bob Hope was actually born in England. Im not sure if his parents were English or American. But it doesn't matter. Either way he is an American to Americans. He could only be better as a Texan.

Beautiful woman inside and out. My brother, while working at an airport, saw her wheeling her invalid husband through security. She stood by him like she stood by our troops.

I'm a Vietnam/Draft resistor. It's sad to see all those chumps and pawns in those audiences. I'm sure the Vietnamese people were so thankful those clowns had a piece of "Americana" around the holidays. They were nothing more than invaders and aggressors in someone else's country that did nothing to Americans or the US. Americans go where they don't belong and bring their entertainment with them. Freakin' disgusting.

In 1969 Ann-Margret pulled my father up on the stage, sat on his lap, and sang to him at a USO concert in Vietnam. I wish there was a video of that. He still says it was one of the all-time highlights of his life!

You can tell her love for the troops is genuine. I have always admired her so much for her work with the USO. And now that I know she flew first class on the Herc (C-130), one of the best plane's ever built, I love her even more. I can picture her red hair blending in with the red troop seats. As an old Herc Crew Chief I would have loved to have been on that flight, engine trouble and all. How cool!
