Hi it’s Gloria from New Zealand, I’m in the Witchcraft as a spiritual Path course. My friends and I were dismayed and shocked at the US election result. However in New Zealand post pandemic many people were worried about the economy and their own personal circumstances. Last year our Conservative Party (National Party) was re-elected as there’s a belief that the National Party support business and farmers better - they do support more liberal laws eg our resource management Act is under threat because it’s felt it prevents business (the ones that pollute the environment!) there’s also criticism that our Labour Party is full of intellectuals not the working classes it was set up to represent. I mention this because I’ve seen KZbin clips saying the same about the democrats. Also saw that Republicans courted the Latino men and black men vote and it looked like they did win them over despite Trump’s racist remarks. So perhaps Democrat Party and Labour Party in New Zealand need to attend to what less well off people want as they're worried about paying the rent and buying food. The middle classes feel they pay the taxes for the social welfare programs and they do - rich people have accountants who structure their finances so they pay little tax. I saw the guys from In Pod we trust (former Democratic speech writers) and they said Democrats will need to do a lot of work with voters on the ground between now and the next election. It’s the same here in NZ.

Hi Gloria, Thanks so much for being part of the Spiritual Path course. It makes me so happy to have a global circle. Yes, the trend to the right is global, centered in the abandonment of the working class, the increasing discrepancy between rich and poor, educated and not - though that same disadvantaged group consistently votes against their own interests. The anti-immigrant sentiment is also a huge factor, and the lost of cultural cohesion, and national identity. Tragically and ironically, the move away from democracy and towards autocracy will not solve the underlying inequality and frustration. Climate change will worsen, war and violence will probably accelerate, along with misogyny which is "off the leash" here after the election...it feels like the death grip of patriarchy. None of these authoritarian empires ever last because they are unnatural...I'm guided to protect the seeds of the natural, new life that we are meant to be living, after the patriarchy does itself in....lots of time in Nature, staying grounded, lots of attention paid to the measures of repression and control imposed....hoping to be able to practice, teach, write, publish, gather, celebrate, work....we shall see.... many blessings and much gratitude

Just one more thing I feel Americans have a strong positive spirit and I enjoyed meeting them travelling from Boston to Los Angeles in 1981. And of course American culture has sent stories and songs around the world in the past 50+years including to My country. I don't believe that the majority of folks who voted for Trump are authoritarian, but now we'll see....the consequences here and throughout the world, esp, Ukraine, could be dire, but I'm determined to remain hopeful.

Yes, it's heartbreaking and we have to feel our feelings. And then we have to go back to work, we can't allow ourselves to be oppressed and disempowered by fascists and the damage they will certainly do. We're going to have to find strength and hope in the face of very real challenges, but we're enmeshed in a web of life that is always there for us, always energizing and blessing us. SO we're contending with the last of the distorted Solar worshipping patriarchs, who believe in their imperials hierarchies, and who's abuse of power scorches the land , the souls of the people, making everything a desert where little grows. We have to bring love to ourselves, to one another, to our circles, our communities, to preserve life, and to restore life. It's going to get tougher and tougher, especially with global warming, but we are being shown the way, our way, to help ourselves and Mother Earth.

This whole political speech you have done here is so topical as if you're going to be some spiritual person if you vote for Gavin Newsom. Please, just look at history. Islamists have been using both Feminism and Critical Race Theory agaist students at least that's what happened at the college I attended. Rolling my eyes. An immigrant is a person who got permission to enter a country. People who won't pass qualifications to enter a country are intruders.
