Great riding! I was there last week and went down on a simple flat blue, and broke my ankle. The excess leaves and loose dirt made for little traction, had us slipping sliding everywhere.

Stillwell is great trail . I would go this weekend but the rain this last view days will make it to muddy.

Anyone knows if you can safely ride this green and some of the easier blue trails with a good quality hard tail Bike?

I'm sure you could do a lot more, but cat and mouse would be another good one for a hard tail. There is also sugar and spice which is a bit harsher of a ride but not too much harder if memory serves. You could maybe take Jake's down to Gronk if you were looking for a jump trail. For sure watch some videos before hand because there is some tech that will jostle you on some of this trails more than others, but they should all be doable. I'd really recommend at 170 front/160 rear. I am looking for a bike myself and this strongly seems to be the recommendation. One guy said he did all the trails at Highland on a Hardtail, the mentally deleted the memory because of the pain he was in... He was on a full suspension that day.

I think, its doable with gravel bikes. A lot of trails are smooth. You should be fine

U gotta get in that hinge drop ur heels and pump the hole dh just like the pump track once i started doing that changed everything for my riding speed

Nice to see this place still open. I used to ride here every weekend 10-15 years ago. At the time there was talks of the county selling the property to developers. Thankfully they never did!

Also you can start on RT25 next to the Stop & Shop store there is a parking lot trail head. It a nice add on that connects to Stillwell. You should check it out if you haven't already.

Hey! What’s up? I know some good shop that can work on your bike. I also know a mechanic but they are not in queens. Bicycle playground is a good shop - they are deep in long island. I know a mechanic also based in long island that can work on your bike.
