I traveled the entire Trace last year and hit every single stop and campground along the way. It took me about 5 days to it all; I was in no hurry. I video documented the trip for posterity. Trace is a French term for a line created by footprints or animal tracks. Next year, I plan to do the Blue Ridge Parkway. I'm not sure if I'll hit every stop like I did on the Trace. 200+ overlooks is a bit much.

Thanks Peggy! It was kind of a cameras off vacation trip for me but in the end, I wanted to document some of the fun I had so it required a lot more dashcam and voiceover than would have been ideal! I got to see a lot of friends and family along the way.

What a great museum! They have so much to look at really enjoyed seeing the inside of the old engine and all the old furniture that was a nice 1890s restroom! This was great to share we would stop in here too. Sometimes its hard to get Ron on a train when he isnt working thought. LOL! Great video!

Thank You! About half of my videos are train related and the rest are general travel. I'm afraid my subscribers don't know what to expect! I just published a roadtrip video that included a trolley ride around Little Rock and North Little Rock Arkansas. Great towns with lots of breweries (my other passion) and entertainment options plus an RV Park on the river in the middle of everything!

There is also a nearby historic Carnegie library near the railfan park. Cordele as I understand was named the Capitol of the Confederacy after Richmond fell to the Union Army in 1865. Gen. Lee was already enroute to Appamaddox. 🛤️

twice a year for nearly 20 years i lived in the Flathead and would take a May drive and a September drive for 4 day weekends in Yellowstone. Occasionally their were road closures. but spring bison calving and fall elk bugling were special and fewer "tourons" around on shoulder seasons took sooooo many different routes i can't remember them all. through Missoula and Darby and over through the Little Belts and down though Helena and Three Forks through Livingston through Red Lodge through Deer Lodge the interstate - of course through Big Hole not a bad trip any way you go.

I remember those trains from when I was a kid seeing them at the museums fair park location. its disappointing they tore out the museum and just turned it into a parking lot. hopefully this means they will get more rollingstock. I must attribute some part of my journey to actually working on the railroad to my dad taking me to the museum as a kid. it looks like they brought the railway express building as well. any idea if they brought over the calliope? I enjoyed listening to its unique sounds.

The river runs through the center of Helen and about a mile down stream, it goes over the Nora Mill Dam. Anna Ruby Falls is about 5 miles north of Helen, Georgia. Another interesting place nearby is Brasstown Bald, Georgia's highest point, offering panoramic views from 4,784-ft.

Hey Jimmy, you weren't too far from our backyard! There's a supper club in New Richmond called The Laurel that's worth visiting if you ever find yourself out that way again. I remember taking US2 from Duluth to Seattle many many years ago. It becomes an interesting drive once you get a bit further west into Montana 😅 The Idaho stretch was very scenic.
