Stephen a is a knicks fan but even had dirk ahead of melo. 8 out of 9 years in the playoffs out first round explain that. Dirk went to 2 finals and had a finals mvp and a historic run. Melo chokes in playoffs and gives up on his team.

Smart move by OKC. Harden is a good player, but he’s a 6th man, not a superstar. They have two of the youngest superstars and got a lot for Harden. I can’t wait to see how many titles this team wins.

Looking back, its unbelievable how much this one trade has affected the course of these two NBA franchise. Before the trade, one team was a dynasty in the making that looks to dominate the NBA for many years to come. It boasted three immensely talented players with massive star potential, still under 25 years old. The future of this team was incredibly bright and they seemed destined to compete and win multiple championships for the next decade. It was a nightmare for the rest of the NBA because this team was barely scratching its surface. The other team is stuck in the cycle of mediocrity, trying to rebuild from the crumbled ruins left over from the Yao Ming / Tmac era without hitting the complete reset button. After the inspiring 2009 playoff run, the team completely fell off the face of the NBA and was stuck in mediocrity limbo. Three seasons of playoff drought and plenty of assets hoarding but yet no clear sense of direction. The future doesn't look very bright and it felt like the team was destined for many more years of mediocrity limbo. Fortunately all those assets hoarding paid off because when an opportunity presents itself, they were able to make the move. Since the trade, both teams have slowly gone in different directions.
