This was known as 3 not 6 before the prequels: I have the original trilogy, but the prequels (by many) would say they were poorly written.

Always thought the trilogy would've been a lot better if Han had died here, like Vader and Boba talk about the possibility of. Think about it; Han's character arc has already been completed as he turns from smuggler rogue who only looks out for himself to a hero of the rebellion who bravely sacrifices himself for the good of the galaxy, and as such he doesn't really do anything in RotJ, he's just comic relief in that movie. Removing him from Return would've let the writers focus more on the dynamics between the other main cast like Luke and Leia. It eliminates that whole messy first act where they have to infiltrate Jabba's palace, or you could alter it to where Leia and Luke infiltrate Jabba's to take back Han's carbon frozen corpse and make that whole plot about them finding closure. Plus it makes the stakes for the confrontation between Luke and Vader at Cloud City higher as we know the carbon freezing process could very easily kill Luke how it killed Han. That's just what I think anyway

This is what really kills Star Wars episode 3 for me. I could forgive a lot of mess ups the prequels had when it comes to be consistent with the original films, but this is sadly the biggest fuck up from George Lucas. There's no way Leia can remember what her mother looked like even if just a little, she was only just born along side Luke, babies don't have the brain capacity to understand that until they are at least 2 or 3 years old, and even if they could, then why doesn't Luke remember her too? They were born at the same time, surely he saw her too before dying. So really, the only thing that matters when it comes to Star Wars are the classic films, everything else was just pointless that does nothing but milked a franchise to death.

Disney should be ashamed of themselves. This was epic. Not the Culture garbage we get now

3:30 Another underrated thing about this scene: Han clearly appears flustered when he realizes that Leia confided in Luke (because at this point Han still thinks Luke is a rival for Leia's love). However, a few seconds later, he apologizes for lashing out like that and then comforts Leia. Unlike in the previous film, Han has developed as a character, and he's putting Leia's well-being over his own self interest. Even if Leia doesn't want to date him (remember that Han doesn't know they're siblings), Han will still view Leia as a best friend and will comfort her when she's feeling down. Later on in the film, he openly tells Leia that if she chooses to love Luke instead, he's perfectly fine with that, signifying that he puts Leia's well-being and personal decisions over his own desires. Of course we know what happens next, and the film ends with Han and Leia falling in love, but even if Leia did choose someone else, Han Solo by now had grown as a character and would have taken her decision in stride, probably even setting them up on dates, because he now cares for other people and not just himself.

Han Solo is such a hot, a hole. 😄

Kinda messed up that Vader never made any sort of connection with his Force sensitive daughter like he did with his son. Even when she was standing right in front of him several times. Vader knew Luke had the Force even before Yoda trained Luke, so why did he miss it with Leia? Massive plot hole.

Carbon freezing was done in the Clone Wars to thwart the Citadel's "lifeform scanners". But not without Clone Trooper Fives making an oddly specific comment. He comes out with "Are we sure this thing is safe? I don't want to end up a wall decoration".

I rewatched this last night with my Dad and as soon as Luke told Leia he was like "ew you kissed him" *I cracked up*

So clearly at some point, Lucas felt that Leia and Han would make a better couple than Luke and Leia. Hence initially going all in with the two of them before suddenly revealing that they are siblings.
