I am on April. I am go to Japan and go to universal studio Japan and I was go to super Nintendo land and is is so so so good. It’s the best thing ever seen in my life and even minion land they both are gold and they are never die and it looks like dog shit and it look like trashcan on this concept I just want some some thing else like classic mobile games like my singing monster it is my favourite game and subway surfer and they’re both are classic but my singing monster is now still stressful

Drayton Manor and Alton Towers are resorts now where you can stay and they have seasonal festivals & events. I think Universal will have to work hard to keep up with them.

I think it is something that will benefit the parks as it will increase revenue. Hopefully it is appropriate and subtle but so many other industries do it, I personally think it’s a positive for the parks. Another great video.

I 100 percent agree, Alton Towers and other theme parks. The money has to come from somewhere and the numbers still haven’t even recovered from COVID at least in terms of Thorpe Parks attendance etc. I do also agree that the context matters and how it is integrated into an attraction.

When you talked about making upgrades to your PC as planet coaster doesn't run very well I have the same problem and from looking at planet zoo I think the game engine will be updated to help it run smoother and due to the waterslides and filming scaling that they are implementing it will be a very poor decision to not update the game engine

I think it will be an overall positive. Merlin is currently the biggest theme park company in the world besides Disney. The UK is merlins home terf. I think Universal will provide some healthy competition for merlin. Univeral will be one big park, Merlin has four great theme parks in the UK alongside many other attractions. Universal won't have the history that many of these parks like Alton & Chessington have. Legoland is probably the newest park, 1996, but the history goes back to the 70s with winsor safari park. Something universal can't easily build on or reference. With a few large fields which will likely have a history as riviting as Thope park when they first opened. Authough the UK is an island, its a relatively large one. With interesting things to see all around the country. Smaller parks will still have traffic from tourists visiting an area or locals.
@themeparkperspective3 ай бұрын
Great point, I think the monopoly that Merlin has will certainly give them a good foundation and I will be honest, I am looking forward to seeing how this competition will affect the UK theme park industry.

Alton towers was always at the forefront of new ride technology but Rita and oblivion are showing their age/limitations. I’d keep oblivion because it’s awesome if a little short but I’d get rid of Rita and replace it with a multi launch coaster. They used to have to be really creative with their coasters because of planning laws that require them to stay below the tree lines. This shouldn’t be a limitation now with modern day multi launch coasters. I’d also think they should invest in a RMC single track coaster like jersey devil. They have a small footprint and are relatively cheap - but still meant to be excellent coasters. I’d really like to see them create a top class dark ride along the lines of what we see from Disney or Universal but don’t know if they have the budget for it. Maybe Merlin could do a multi park ride like I think they have done with some of the Legoland rides. I always remember being so disappointed with the ghost train ride that they made a big deal out of in the 90’s and it was awful compared to Phantom Manor at Disneyland Paris and was also way behind the very old Haunted Mansion.
@themeparkperspective3 ай бұрын
Most definitely, if it comes between Rita and Oblivion going I would choose Rita any day of the week. As much as I try to avoid criticising theme park areas, dark forest does need to be redone in my opinion, and I think you are right, something like a multi launch or a blitz would suit that area perfectly.
@silenthillxd60574 ай бұрын
I just don't see it happening. The theme doesn't really work for the maze and given the tag line is Find Your Fearless, I think they want to be moving away from the dark moody themes of the past, so a scare maze wouldn't work.
@themeparkperspective3 ай бұрын
That is a very true, and I will be honest, I'm so desperate for an extension to Hyperia's story line that the glisten of hope that they could find a way to do it I kind of ran with the idea, but you raise a very good point.
@danjon87994 ай бұрын
So interesting thoughts. So for me if they are going to close this attraction (and bear in mind its a big one) they must be planning something BIG and given how they were experimental last year with Daz Games, I think we will get another one of these hybrid attractions which is why I think it is going to be the first AT scare maze that includes a ride. Why? Well the answer is it is such an iconic ride and it suits the attraction well. Plus the thing is really for a scare maze if you're going to include a ride you want one that will actually complement the maze and not be one that distracts you (I think about some of the attractions and ones like Hex are fab because it does that - the ride itself complements the whole experience so by the time you experience the ride you think its way more than a Madhouse ride). So enough about the thoughts. What is my idea that this attraction will be: The Witches Coven - Alton Towers Dungeon site On the outskirts of the Towers there are whisperings of a coven of witches lurking by the grounds. They plan to seek revenge after that frightful day in 1821. But it just so happens that on that eventful day, you are their prize. Step forward into your boat as you journey through the Alton Woods and do what you can to discover the coven. But will you escape in one piece? Using cutting edge technology, state of the art scares and a range of exciting and immersive storytelling techniques, this unique brand new scare maze combines a range of different methods to tell the continuation of the story of Hex: The Legend of the Towers. Part scare maze, part ride. This is one not to miss. Just something to think about. I think given lore with the attractions AT has had enough of ghosts and also the thing is it needs to be something that will complement the previous attraction given the quick turnaround. And of course the big thing everyone's speculating is the return of Hex so why not have a HEX themed maze.

I really think you've hit the nail on the head there, and to be honest if we get anything close to what you have described I would be over the moon. I think you need to be hired by Alton Towers, reading that description I could picture the whole thing.

Good to hear, after making the video I did see mention of the park stating that they weren't aiming on having so many sinister themes around the park, and that has made me think if there is any way you can pull off a scare maze without the sinister element. But anything is on the cards for Thorpe and I certainly wouldn't complain if they did.

I’m quite hopeful that they are building momentum with their improvements and I would love to see them look at some of the connecting paths and make them a bit more pushchair and wheelchair friendly.

@themeparkperspective3 ай бұрын
I have to say, it was a bit of a drain. Although it isn't the parks fault, it did feel a little bit wounding and I cannot imagine what it was like for those commuting longer distances. I did get a free Hyperia fast pass which helped when we returned.
@beelovedgifts5 ай бұрын
I really hope it pushes other parks like Merlin to keep moving forward to continue developing and bringing new rides. I think there will naturally be a place for them all as a Universal park will charge Universal prices but I truly believe a bit of competition is always good.
@themeparkperspective3 ай бұрын
Great point, healthy competition is often what pushes companies to make some great innovations.
@beelovedgifts5 ай бұрын
I think the back story for Hyperia is really good but the area needs work, i’m hopefully it will be developed over time.

Although the price tag seems a bit high at first, given that they are beautifully laser cut components that you get to use to make the model the price tag I think is justified and put it this way, I certainly wouldn't be complaining if I got something like this as a gift.

Universal's UK Park will send a seismic shockwave throughout the UK's park industry, and I think it will kick start the golden age of UK theme parks as off course Merlin and others will have to respond with everything they have. With regards to Thorpe, Alton, Brighton etc having an established name, I don't think Universal will have any problem with that aspect as they come with a more than giant reputation already. Epic Universe in Florida will open next year which will also get a lot of park enthusiasts attention here and will just act as a huge bit of hype to what they will build in the UK. People will I imagine see Epic as a foreshadowing of what the UK one will be like. If it's on the same par as Epic the hype of it being revealed and people following it's build online will be insane. Add to that the rumoured themes of Lord Of The Rings, James Bond etc will just ramp up the hype to crazy levels. Imagine pictures of a Lord Of The Rings Land taking shape to the same quality and stunning'ness as the Harry Potter Florida lands. I reckon the hype for it as it comes to the opening day after years of seeing the plans and daily/weekly drone leaks of it's build similar to Bioreconstruct and KZbin channels like Theme Park Stop with Epic, will be unlike anything we have ever seen in the UK. From opening day onwards it will be full.

Very good points, I think you are bang on with the excitement this project will bring as even now, before the project is set in stone, the hype that is building within the theme park community, including myself, really is a great thing to see.
