No offense I love this film but for god sake this lady’s singing is so horribly bad.if her voice could wake the dead they be saying hey shut the hell up.one of the absolute worst singing voices I’ve ever heard.however sheerly joins voice is fantastic

Everyone complimenting Gloria Grahame, and rightly so, but let's not forget the great lyrics. Getting the seduction references across in that day and age was walking a fine line, and was so cleverly done.

What a shame she has gone and we can't let her know how much we appreciated her performance. Yet life is such that people will leave us and we do not get the chance to tell them we appreciate them, because we assume there will always be time .

She was obsessed with the appearance of her upper lip. She thought it looked “thin” and “weak.” So she put cotton inside her lip to fill it out. You can see that her upper lip doesn’t move and actually produces a slight speech impediment. She was a poor tormented soul.

*Shirley Jones delivered a fine performance in "Elmer Gantry" and Gloria Grahame traveled off the beaten path a bit in one of the best episodes of the original "Outer Limits" TV series - in "The Guests".*

If she had been holding his collar when he pushed her, he would have gone as well. He had to be really careful. I was thinking, just cos he knew Dorrie and was her manfriend, this did not mean he killed her. There would have to be sufficient evidence to convict him of murder. I don't think there was much proof.

There's stories about how the cast treated her badly and her time miserable, in the Oklahoma scene you see her break down and cry. It's sad when actors of your favorite musicals were miserable in what you assume was fun and a masterpiece to make. She was a scene stealer but I think that was rhe role vs the actress.

How different she looks in this film. She used an Oklahoman regionalism and she did her own singing as the speaking & sing match. This was certainly a departure from her other film work.
