Hawthorne is useless ever since the red war. Seriously, bungie missed an opportunity in season of the defiance to bring devrim and hawthorne together and to see their interactions from the red war till the events of lightfall. It just seems to me they completely forgotten about her, or jusr dismissed her. Shame

You can still glitch in to this area in the year 2023 August, jump out the map in the weak spot use a sword to push yourself back in, use something like strand to lift yourself clear on to the pipe. follow it until you reach this area.

I can't believe I am coming back to this years later to realize that the city in the beginning might not be the Last City like I thought it was, but could very well be the origins of the Witness. The triangles in the shadows we briefly see before we zoom in on the city, the way the camera pans into the water to show a multitude of people in the deep, which then pans onto the fleet sinking into the water, and a glimpse of the Leviathan as an example of how the Witness seeks out Disciples and Calus would eventually be sought after for it. I never noticed the whispers when the camera pans on the people in the water. Very eerie to notice all this years later.

Seeing his backstory changes how his dialogue feels. It used to seem to just be an emperor's cockiness, and spite against the immortality and fearlessness of Lightbearers. Now you truly understand why he words things the way he does. "You are not brave; you have merely forgotten the fear of death." He fought in Cabal gladiatorial arenas before overthrowing Calus, he was brought to death's doorstep every day. Quote him, "Victory promised another day." He had to grow accustomed to the feeling of death. In his backstory cutscene, he is very scrawny for a Cabal. This shows that he was an underdog in every battle he fought. He was meant to be slaughter. Meant to be a gory scene for the crowd. Quote, "I saw the blade raised, awaiting it's fall upon my neck. I turned to Emperor Calus. He was dispassionate. But his daughter, Caitl, looked upon me sternly, issuing a silent command. 'Win, and live.' and so I did." God, he's cool.

Nah, that's sentinel shield. It was corresponding to the 3 subclasses. Arc, solar, and void.

No, but in the lore, guardians who almost die will pull dreams of the traveller from memory, this dream symbolised a bird (presumably Louis) who leads you through to the shard after it shows the darkness falling into the water (which symbolizes you losing your light) And guiding you to the shard (to tell you to go to the shard). However, the crow is given these dreams randomly, indicating that he is a speaker. In his dreams he describes being a bird and flying through a wide landscape to finally be engulfed by darkness. I presume this symbolises the taken trying to corrupt hawkmoon and telling him to save it, but then we go save it.

I think its more like a parallell: just as we got a vision from the traveler (go to the shard, be the one guardian with our light back until the traveler is freed from ghoul) Crow also received a vision(s) leading him to a shard
