Davies. Criminal how he only received one WC final! Motson was blue-eyed boy of the corporation. Obvious he did the dirty on Davies after the 94 WC, 95 and 96 FACs which ruined his stats! BD focused on the match and in the moment. His co-commentator could only speak when invited. Stats only when essential. Motson 95% stats, rest on the game, too excitable and usually doing conversational commentary! Moore was perfect too for short, sharp sentences with iconic phrases and well measured levels of excitement. Moore and Davies ironcially went to the same grammar school in Kent.

Moore easily. Commentators these days seem to forget the viewer can see what's happening and also that we don't particularly want their opinion.

This is magnificent. I have David Coleman’s words “1-0” etched in my mind from boyhood. So simple, but somehow it always sounded exciting. I thought of it this morning and Googled it, in the hope others felt the same about the immortal phrase, and here it is!! Well done to you. Fantastic. Many thanks

Brilliant. How can only three people have seen this?! Anyway, my only personal submission which is absent from here would be Craig Maskell's play-off final goal against Leicester for Swindon. Really good audible thump off the post. Wembley's net mics must have been good as it was a theme.

This is my new favourite video. I shout "It's in there!" in the Moore fashion on a daily basis, normally followed by "Stevie Hodge!" That goal, I am pleased to see, made it into this wonderful compilation. "IT'S IN THERE!"
