Not sure I understood the response to Shane below....is it OK if your shoulder line is above the green shoulder line or below the line, just as long as the shoulders are in line/level with the green shoulder line?
@back2basicsgolfАй бұрын
Great question! The key is to ensure your shoulders are level and aligned with the green line. This alignment helps promote a consistent stroke and proper setup. If your shoulders are tilted or misaligned, it could affect your putting accuracy. Here’s an example image to clarify: drive.google.com/file/d/1dwpBTHQ6Q5Z-TqngJOOZ3x99Wch3_KjH/view?usp=sharing

Relative to the shoulder line, do I get my shoulder tips level with the green line on the mirror or level relative to the shoulder line, but not exactly on the green shoulder line? I am on the eye level line, no problem, but the shoulders seem too far away in the set up. Can you help?
@back2basicsgolfАй бұрын
Thanks for your question! The goal is to get your shoulders level relative to the green line on the mirror. While your shoulder tips don’t have to be exactly on the green line, they should align evenly with it to ensure proper setup and a balanced stroke. If your shoulders feel too far away, it might be worth checking your posture and stance. Make sure your arms are hanging naturally and your body is relaxed, allowing the shoulders to align correctly without feeling stretched or uncomfortable. Here’s a helpful visual to guide you: drive.google.com/file/d/1dwpBTHQ6Q5Z-TqngJOOZ3x99Wch3_KjH/view?usp=sharing

I seem to have the eye line down, but do my shoulders need to be level with the shoulder line on the putting mirror or level relative to the shoulder line on the mirror?
@back2basicsgolfАй бұрын
Great to hear you’ve nailed the eye line! Your shoulders should be level relative to the shoulder line on the mirror. They don’t have to sit exactly on the green line, but they should be evenly aligned with it to ensure proper posture and a consistent stroke. Let me know if you need more guidance, or check out this visual for a better understanding: drive.google.com/file/d/1dwpBTHQ6Q5Z-TqngJOOZ3x99Wch3_KjH/view?usp=sharing

95% of golfers are plagued by chunking the ball. Everything we do is a compensation to not chunk it on the course. We cant even chip without chunking. We dont know how to use the tool. We can all learn in 1 day to hit a nail on the head with a hammer and by the end of the day we can naturally add tremendous power. “Straight jacket golf” instructors twist us up like a pretzel and think we’ll be able to swing freely and powerfully. How do we use the tool and how do we get the club sweeping at the correct height at impact? Teach us that and we can take care of the rest. Do you have any videos you can point me to that will help with this plague
Like you I tucked my hands underneath the putter grip/handle. (I had read a Greg Norman article in an August 1993 edition of Golf magazine where Norman mentioned he and Butch Harmon rebuilt his putting stroke. He said he went from 73rd the year before to 3rd in putting, and he had said his keys were externally rotating his hands underneath the handle, and bending more from his waist, knees, and elbows). I liked that such a method seemed to encourage my arms to externally rotate and connect my upper arms to the side of my chest and promote consistent path to my putter where it wouldn't swing outside and away on the backswing. Having said all that I'm interested to try the hands on top equal and opposite grip as I like to use that style in my full swing, pitches, and bunker shots. Thanks for sharing a method I may not have tried if you hadn't mentioned it.

I do this drill a lot. Modified. Instead of counting putts, I just putt for 5:00 and try to limit misses to 0 or 1. I don’t think missing 1 is the end of the world (for a bogey golfer). Just finish it out.

Can this mirror be applied if you have a more straight back straight thru putting stroke with a 1/8 toe hang mallet style putter?
@back2basicsgolf Жыл бұрын
The mirror can be used to help anyone with shoulder and eye alignment. If you're putting straight back and forward you wouldn't focus on the patented arc.
@gregoryrobak456 Жыл бұрын
Is the Pro Path Putting Mirror only for arc putting strokes? I was SAM Putt Lab fitted for a more Straight Back Straight Thru stroke with a very slight arc. My wide blade putter I was recommended has a subtle 1/8 toe hang. I want a training aid that will match my stroke. Thanks
@back2basicsgolf Жыл бұрын
The Pro Path Putting Mirror can be used for both straight back straight through strokes and arc putting strokes. It is designed to help golfers with their alignment, ball position, and eye position, regardless of the type of stroke they use. However, if you want a training aid that specifically matches your stroke and recommended putter, you may want to consider getting a custom-made putting mirror or consult with your SAM Putt Lab fitter for a recommendation. They may have more insight into which training aid would be most beneficial for your individual stroke and preferences.

I'm thinking if I just lay a coin down and take my stance, aim my putter at the coin, I can then check to see if my alignment is correct with the alignment rod. I could do that from a bunch of different spots without moving the coin. This is a good drill to do at home.
