Thanks. For me, he hit the sweet spot between a flat abstract plane of nothingness and the gentle vibrations of how light appears in describing form. In a way that doesn’t value representation per se, just uses the world of form as a structure to explore shapes, drawing and colour.

Thanks Tenaya and Gage! This puts perfectly what I've been trying to say to people about AI art for a while. Also props to the production value here. Glad my membership fees have been going to good use.

Is a real adventure to take an artistic life, in an times like these; full of crises, after crises. Means a lot, for those to get too long time, to had a chance to learn, in a Classical way. Is hard to find to me in my own Country, something similar . I am a realist self taugh painter, in my humble corner of this world.

A very real video, showing how artists are discovering what it really takes to be one. Slopping paint around and concept appropriation is NOT art.

7:03 "born centuries ago in places like florence, the language of drawing is universal" - I'm fairly sure people started drawing a lot longer than centuries ago.
@lexkinetic5448
@lexkinetic5448 5 жыл бұрын
Late reply, but just saying "centuries ago" could mean any number of centuries, including 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 centuries ago, so technically, he's not wrong

Classical training for contemporary artist is an oxymoron. The silly twit at 1:01 who did most of the talking comes across as just ridiculous. At 0:42 this video lost all credibility. Atelier training is hard work, to bad Gage Academy doesn't take it self seriously. This video is proof.

I have to agree with all your points. This video does nothing to advance the classical traditions of figurative fine arts.
@kathleencalhoun4543
@kathleencalhoun4543 6 жыл бұрын
Why the hate? Where are your reasons? I teach art and love the classical approach but know art also has to be desirable and accessible to today’s people-which 1:01 did a good job of explaining. At 0:42 look past the woman and her work on her wall, could you sketch anything as even close to that Sammy? She is accomplished AND fun!
