The problem is the photographer has tied her branding to her color grading. This is probably a lack of confidence in her work being unique enough to justify charging 8k. I mean there are a lot of cool ways to stand out that dont involve a sledgehammer color grade. You could shoot film or medium format. You should have the confidence to be able to offer alternate color grades. Ps wedding photography is a service first always that you can sneek a bit or artisticness into. You are there to document an event not try to be ansel adams.

Would love to hear more about engagement sessions vs. wedding day couples portraits (posing, prompts etc.) and if you do anything differently for one compared to the other! And how you each go about posing during a session- love hearing how different you are yet so supportive of one another! ☺

For me it would be when the groom gets lost under the dress to get the garter. Or takes his time taking it off w/his teeth. The parents must be cringing having to watch that. 😂

The photographers edits will b painfully dated. Some might argue that extreme color editing is already dated. Photos edited like that are going to be the 80s puff sleeve wedding dresses of the late 2010s and early 2020s. No matter how nice a wedding photo is from the 1980s its still kinda cringe if the bride was wearing one of those 80s puff sleeve dresses.

You both talking about focus and issues with it sounds like me before I got diagnosed with adhd 😂 medication definitely helps lol. I went full time into video this year and that’s been my biggest struggle still.

Have you seen sepia bride wedding video ? It’s very true to color. I think that played a part in all this after she saw that
@davidmartin82114 ай бұрын
Sepia, and blue, was originally a way of adding color in black and white photographs. Think late 1800s early 1900s. It's still fun for black and white but not so much for color.

29:45 I despise "film inspired." If you want it to look like film, just use film.

Fyi. Looking at the same photographer website via a large monitor, laptop monitor, and the phone can yield a different experience due to the color correctness of the screen. This is why photographers will color correct their monitor before they edit photographs.

So I've been following this topic in a lot of photogs YT channels. There was some sort of debate in one comment section if that photographer should have changed her color grading just for that picky bride. So my question is, should she have just changed her edits to bright and airy/true toned instead of just giving her the raws and copyright?
@katiez6884 ай бұрын
Yes! A person (hopefully) only has one wedding day and its a big deal to a lot of people. Holding the raws hostage and refusing to edit them true to color is crazy. These are not art prints or commercial photography. They are photos of a couple’s wedding day and no one else cares about them except the couple and their close family/friends.
