Uhhh, grab on tight to the racket as you hit the ball? Don't think that is good advice, its loose all the way thru but not so loose to let the racket doesn't fling out of your hand. Level 1-5? its a 3

I would like to see single hand backhand, always like both of your videos.
I have struggled feeding the ball for a long time. And this is the best explanation I watched about how to do it consistently. Really good. Thanks

you shouldn't squeeze tight on conctat you just have to squeeze a little bit more

I'm a beginner just started playing tennis a little over 2 weeks. Thanks for the video. I'm a lefthander, some times I have trouble hitting with my forehand, working on my backhand for power. I'm putting my hitting to the test to find out which one has more power. I'm trying to do my very best for as timing.

One of the most underpracticed skills is how to start a rally with a partner or opponent. I have coached many years and have tried to teach my players on how to feed the first shot to begin a warm up rally, etc. but some just don{t get it. Using the Continental grip is a great idea- since most of my players seemingly use the semi-western grip and, of course, hit a high bouncing ball with topspin. Great ideas' Thanks!

Great tips! Your content is ace, but I think your thumbnails could use a boost. I'm a thumbnail designer for sports channels and would love to help your videos stand out more. Let me know if you're interested in some ideas!

Unusual concept of squeezing tightly at contact. Most instructors do not advocate a squeeze on ground strokes or serves. A few instructors do advocate a squeeze on volleys at contact and that makes sense. For me, I think a moderately loose grip works best on groundstrokes and serves. I don't use any active wrist movement on groundstrokes but I do have a little wrist action in the serve.

Thank you for covering this important topic! Too many times my hitting partners send me balls that are essentially winners! I am eager to practice this skill and SHOW MY PARTNERS how to do this as well. Ha ha! Great videos, I will be subbing your channel, thanks again - JD, Canada

Important topic, thanks. I am trying since years to teach my partners to feed the ball like this, not always with success. By the way, in the last years I began more and more to feed the ball in different ways, to teach beginners how to react properly to the different depths , speed, and spin (or lack of). They are indeed learning faster how to be more competitive. Sometimes they have also to let the bounce ball twice or three times, so they get aware of the movement towards the ball or away from the ball.

My hitting partner never feeds it properly to keep or start a rally. In fact, there is no rally unless I feed or give pace for him to use. Tempted to forward this video.

Love your content. One more detail, the left shoulder should actually goes up first, and the right side of the body rotate over the left shoulder, that way the full body weight transfer up toward the ball.

This is not how I play. All of my shots whether forehand, backhand or serve is done with a very loose wrist even at contact. On one handed backhands, a loose wrist can definitely affect your timing. And on a very hot and humid day, I have to make sure my racket doesn't fly off my hands by drying them after every point. Of course, on volleys or when I have a short swing path, I have to tighten up my wrist.
