Thanks for the comment! SOA are a pretty strong data sheet (speed, damage output). That said they are not tough at all. A couple magic missiles and they will be gone.

Dwarfs have a rough time with fanatics, they don’t have very good answers. Rangers can be a good first turn screen for blits moves but mostly dwarfs have to just absorb the damage from fanatics.

Yep, this was a mistake on my part. There is a simple fix and that’s putting it on the bsb herald already in the list. Basically changes nothing. I appreciate the question and apologize for any confusion this may cause.

For sure, lol. But we want everyone to be able to play. I’m pretty sure the guy had his stuff modeled for AOS but started changing it over to old world and hadn’t changed the manglers just yet. I’m totally cool with them being that way it’s pretty easy to figure the facing. But does look a little strange on the table full of square bases.

Thanks so much for the question! The army design I did was a war machine gun line with a counter punch (cavalry). With this style of list the bsb isn’t as important as raw damage so I took a second lvl 4 wizard instead. Thanks again!

The only compulsory list building requirement for characters is you must have a minimum of one character as you must have a general for your army. Some characters unlock list building potential, some characters cast magic, some characters have special abilities. Which to choose all depends on what you want to accomplish on the tabletop. It can also be as simple as what you think looks cool.

Oh the orc and goblin tribes sorry for not being pacific you had an age of Sigmar black orc big boss from the iron jaws do I need that or any other big boss orc?

No problem at all! Orcs and goblins are great. Any model will work being a character, you just want for your opponent to be able to tell the difference between a standard line infantry model and who’s your characters. Thanks again!

I have played fantasy since 3rd edition. I grew up playing GW games both fantasy and 40K. Every edition has had strengths and weaknesses. Hello and thank you! With the difference between arcane urgency and travel mystical pathway you are absolutely correct, arcane urgency the unit would be able to move further. I was trying to say you could do something similar but not as well with elementalism. Elementalism still has benefits though as it has plague of rust which is a very good hex. All depends on what you want from your caster.

I want to do just that! Show everyone that you don’t need a scream list to win with VC. I think I’ll still have a scream or two just from characters but run 2 units of blood knights.

I will try them on s tournament sunday. Is escalation: 1500 the first game than 1750 and 2000. I will bring a Mortis and one banshee just in the last match. I want to try skeleton warriors instead of grave guards to add wolfes and ghouls. I hope buff and debuff will be enough to win melee

Nice! Best of luck! Skeletons will be punching up almost all the time. Take dark magic for ‘word of pain’ & ‘battle lust’ it will help a lot.

If he’s a different unit type (cavalry vs infantry) he doesn’t get “look out sir” or unit protection so he could be targeted by cannons and the like.

Thanks! They are not strong for sure but can still go toe to toe with basic troops like men at arms. 20 is just so they can’t get blown away with one shooting phase or one round of combat.

Thanks for the question! The initial hits are from the grail knights charging and landing on the 2 fanatics then the push through hits are when I move the fanatics through them. The grail knights took 4d6 hits in total from 2 fanatics. I hope this helps answering your question. I did the same thing to the questing knights but with only 1 fanatics.

So they charged through the fanatics took hits and then you random moved through them after . So on the charge the fanatics stayed I front of the unit and then you used your controlled direction random movement to re hit them? Do I have that right?

Thanks! Great question. All the cavalry has counter charge and the wizards have 2 fire balls. Behind, you never allow (deploy close enough to the edge they can’t deploy). In the last game vs TK I had to deal with 2x 8 man units of scouting horse archers. Fire ball and a last second charge did them in. I still lost a cannon to them but not everything is perfect.
