I am a junior dev, and you're advice is 100% on point, I have seen my seniors at organization take on complex things, do the extra initiative, always volunteering to get hands dirty. Some of those lads got promoted in less than 1 year, thanks a lot for framing all this into one single video, it takes months of 1:1 with your mentor/manager to understand all this in multiple iterations. Great Work Mate!

Just sub'd. Bro, the word out there is that coding boot camps are dying, closing down, etc. There was a pretty good one called Software Guild who taught C# & Java, and they are no more. I don't know what to even think man!

Yes, definitely do that if you're trying to learn how to code. Make sure to start building projects as well and schedule time every day to practice. To start, 30 minutes a day is enough. If you feel that's not enough, up it to 1 hour a day.

Hello, thank you for the video, Sr. here and i mostly code in Python. At [1:15] AI tools won't replace SWE minds, so AI will not help to do efficient code, at least the current models are not target for that, AI right now it is a general tool, you can use AI just to ask, looks for opinions, avoid the code that those tools create for us. But as you mention eariler, know how it works ChatGPT will not let us move from Jr to Sr. Cheers from Venezuela 🇻🇪

Great video! Just wondering - I'm very new to actively learning to code. What are examples of different coding styles? I feel like I've heard that terminology used before but never really understood what it refers to.
@TheFullstackbro
@TheFullstackbro 3 ай бұрын
Coding styles refer to standards on how your code should be written. For example, if you're using a bunch of if else statements to capture a functionality change, I would convert it over to a switch case statement. Also, the way the code is formatted is important. Adding spaces where it's necessary, new lines, and variable names to describe what it is. Not just random letters or numbers. I will create a video on this topic and show examples. Thanks for watching!

I recently completed a 6-month bootcamp and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Management. During the bootcamp, I learned to integrate login and registration pages with the backend and create APIs using Python and SQLAlchemy. However, I find it challenging to create something new and original on my own. For example, I want to implement a donation feature, but I’ve never done it before. Do you have any suggestions on what I should do besides following tutorials? I'm not just worried about this; it's already happened to me. I've followed some tutorials before, but when I try to solve a problem independently, I struggle to do so without asking AI or referring to a tutorial. i really appreciate the feedback sir
@TheFullstackbro
@TheFullstackbro 3 ай бұрын
I would research different donation systems to get ideas and inspiration to build your own feature. Regardless, your going to have to look at some coding examples to give you an idea as to what you want to build. Once you get a basic idea of how you want to approach your project, then just start executing on it. It doesn't have to be perfect. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

I just want to say that, If you are thinking of becoming a developer then you will have problems soon. If we look at the market now, the software development domain is collapsing. Out of 10 million devs only 100,000 to 1million will remain, that is some expert prediction. So stop dreaming, and start learning other things.
@TheFullstackbro
@TheFullstackbro 4 ай бұрын
I agree that the experience level of some developers will definitely have problems if they're not learning. But, I still believe that if you want to become a developer, whether it's front-end or back-end focus, the oversaturation of the job market shouldn't scare you. Pick a niche that interests you the most and do the research on the available job opportunities.

Yes, I believe you should start regardless of AI. AI should help and guide you on your coding journey. It will improve your understanding of the key concepts for the coding language you want to learn and give you a practical outline of the projects you can build. Whenever you get stuck on something, you can use Chat GPT to help you solve the problem you're stumped on. I use it daily and it has helped me become a better developer and gives me peace of mind when writing code to build something new that is sustainable and won't generate tech debt to refactor later.
