Making both wheels 'drive' the shaft eliminates the functional differential action of the original design. Even the low dollar Scotts spreaders use a single drive wheel to drive the ring gear. I bought the JD LP39087 and it has AgriFab warranty paperwork in the box! The new-in-box came with two of the same side hitch support tubes rather than one each RH and LH. I've got to call the about that... Sounds like their customer service responded well for you. Thanks for the video!

@@dougstarwalt8984 Yes customer service was very helpful and was well aware of the weak piece. The modification with the ring clamps has held up for about 2 years and still working like new which is already longer than the stock part. I haven’t welded the other axle to the wheel as of now I try to make my turns in a way that puts the drive wheel to the outside of the curve which seems to help. The tires kept going flat so I drilled 4 holes in each tire and filled them with Great Stuff works great.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYG4Y2WrgLxjZ7ssi=OngGylFGiEG4bwn1 Your repair is a step in the right direction. After replacing the fork plate I do still extend the shifter. This certainly aids in getting it into gear without running out of room on the dashboard cutout for the lever. Some of the newer models have a revised detent in the transmission and I’ve noticed people just backing out the cable nut so it has more play. The fork inside does bind and stops short of full engagement on the newer models. Still requires engine coming apart and getting reworked.
