I grew up in osseo Wisconsin. Spent many,many hours. Driving along that part of the state..fishing,hunting,sight seeing,bar hopping ,cruising the back roads,all times of the day and night,all 4 seasons.worked in Racine ,drove to osseo.most every weekend,straight up on Fridays,but took a different way back.on sunday,lots of different ways.loved every mile of it,1000000000s of miles,now I don't drive,nothing. And I miss it ,I watch Utube vidios,of people doing the things I used to do and enjoy!!

Yes, we found that out! The trips last year were more about driving the Rustic Roads and scouting out future places for me to camp. My plans for last year changed after my 99 Chevy Express was deemed unsafe to drive due to a compromised frame. I have my own van again now. My 87 year old Dad can't walk far and I wasn't going to make him wait in the car. In all honesty, I couldn't walk very far either, but that's changing. This year is going to different! I'll be doing some camping, sight seeing and light hiking (for now) on my own. When Dad is with me, we'll be doing the same as last year, the Rustic Roads and scouting out camps. New videos coming soon!

The videos from last year I’m currently editing (trying to get caught up) will only be driving and site seeing videos from the car to Rustic Roads, State and County Parks, etc. The van belongs to my 87 year old Dad (Nubby) and he goes to breakfast every morning before 6AM so I can’t use his van for overnight camping. I was personally all set to camp last year after losing my late severely disabled wife in October of 2022, when my high top 99 Chevy Express Van was deemed unsafe to drive and too expensive to fix. The channel was supposed to be about me camping and exploring alone, but I had to pivot. So Dad & I wanted to go to the Rustic Roads as my late Mother always wanted to do and so we’re doing them. Along the way I’m scouting out campgrounds I’d like to camp at and I think we found some goods ones! So I’m currently searching for something affordable, without a ton of rust or a gazillion miles on it. I may wind up with another Caravan or Caravan type vehicle as I think I can make that work for now. I need a vehicle I can sleep in as being as “big” as I currently am (though shrinking fast), I’m not too keen on sleeping in a tent right now, but perhaps in the future. So I do want to do some camping this year!

@HomeCityHomeLife10 ай бұрын
Sorry it took me awhile to respond as I wasn't getting any comments so I didn't check it too often. If you look at 22.03 you can see that it's on the windshield too. I have both kinds of holders. In previous videos I used the mirror holder and then switched to the suction cup windshield holder so I could get the camera up higher. In a video coming up the suction cup holder fails twice while I'm driving so I go back to the mirror holder in later episodes! Yeah you can buy the mirror holders on Amazon. Here's the one I got! www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B5YX62QK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Good Monday morning, Scott! It’s 2:30amCST here in Houston, and, I’m up and having my first cup of coffee to get the day started. Gonna be at the VA all day today taking care of three appointments…usually those would be three different days worth…hoping and praying everything brings back good reports. Seeing all that snow in your video just reminds me of my 38 years of OTR trucking dealing with it. I surely don’t miss that white stuff and all of the ice underneath while being a human integral part of an 80,000lb truck and trailer combo…and, standing outside in the cold dealing with 4 inch straps, ratchets, chains, binders, oversized loads, D.O.T., stupid drivers (wanna be truck drivers especially), and, 200lb tarps. So happy those days are over since retiring in 2015. I definitely don’t miss trucking but I ‘do’ miss traveling all over the country though. I always enjoyed YOUR state of Wisconsin…I have friends that live in Janesville and Kenosha hoping to see them relatively soon…and, of course, when I actually get to Wisconsin, have a chance to meet up with you as well! Nice ride-a-long as always! Stay warm, stay safe, and, have a blessed day my friend! ~Jim~😅

I was tempted to drive truck at one time, the lure of the open road and all, but I never got around to it. You make it sound like so much fun! lol I'll settle for driving my van around the country if this channel can someday fund it, but I'm obviously a long way from there! Sure we can meet up for breakfast or something if you make it up to central Wisconsin. My van is a gas guzzler and I have to keep my travels close by for now. When my wife passed, so did my income as I was her full time Caregiver too. So I need to make this channel grow or in about a year or so I'll probably need to find part time work. Well good luck with your appointments. Take Care!

Hey Scott! One of our property tenants has a wild cat [and stays outside] that follows him around everywhere he goes like a dog! 😂 It’s funny to watch! All of our tenants has a dog or cat so there’s never a dull moment around here! My next door neighbor and I are taking charge of a couple pups that ‘appeared’ 1-1/2 months ago on the property severely undernourished, had mange, and, deathly scared to allow us to have any loving physical contact with them. NOW, after being to the vet…getting their shots, being de-wormed, mange treated, and, both fixed…they won’t leave us alone! Such a difference! Gonna miss them when they get adopted out 😩. Have a great day! ~Jim~

Hey there, Scott! Nice ride-a-long! Do you live in the USA or Canada? Maybe you need to use Quikcrete if you’re not using it already for your holder, and, if they sell it in your town…it hardens pretty fast all the way through after being mixed correctly. I’m still on the wall about having a store do ‘my’ shopping for me…maybe I’m too leery of how some people don’t follow directions very well [or don’t care]. Looking at the overpass in the video I found myself worrying about the height…remnants from 38 years as an OTR cross country truck driver even after being retired eight years! Stay safe and have a blessed day! ~Jim~

What a pain in the butt! I know just about everything doesn't pack down the same as when it's first opened but that is crazy! Is the pod some kind of winter camping tent?
@HomeCityHomeLife Жыл бұрын
The pod is actually just for getting sun in the winter. It's too small to camp in and it would be too cold at night. There was about a 50 degree difference between the outside and in. So I will use it next winter as this one is about over here. Although, it's 9 degree Fahrenheit this morning!
@HomeCityHomeLife Жыл бұрын
On second thought, one could use that pod to sleep in if you put it on it's back, but definitely on a summer night. I thinking about getting one of those clear bubble tents to see the stars at night, but this thing could be used the same way!

@@HomeCityHomeLife yeah it's more of a day Use thing by the sounds of it. I thought it might be possible to use as a winter tent (pod, see through tent? 😅) seeing as it increased in temperature inside but going by what you said that isn't the case in cold weather.
