1/2” group at 200 yds with factory 143 eld-X ammo I have not started load development for this rifle yet. I bought 10 boxes of eld-X ammo because of the ammo scare awhile back, I shot 2 elk at about 300 yds n had both bullets get stuck in the hide on opposite shoulder. Full mushroom of the bullet, both elk died 100 yds apart

@@357magnole8 DO IT! THANK ME LATER. Tikka RoughTech is one of the finest factory production rifles ever made. I now have 2 of the tan/black Roughtechs in 6.5PRC, right hand for my son, left hand for me. Still have that stainless RoughTech Ember in 308 which is amazing. It is right handed. I found the identical rifle in left hand but I'm not paying $1349 for it - also in 308. Would be cool for my son and I to both have 2 each though. Who knows, I may have a moment of financial insanity and just buy a left hand 308 for me. But I still watch out for sales.

You can also use a 1/2”x28 thread pitch for your pencil size barrels and order a adapter 5/8x24 thread pitch to increase its size for a muzzle brake or a suppressor in the future. I had to do this on my Remington 700 bdl in 260 chambering. No I just thread my suppressor onto my adapter.
@z06ix Жыл бұрын
ok all the gunsmiths are telling me that that pitch has too much metal taken out and recommended 9/16x28 or 9/16x24 pitch. I was also thinking about getting the answer, do you have all the set screws on top taken out? Why didn't you go with 9/16x28 pitch, has less barrel material taken out.... also is the answer pinned on with loctite or do you have a torque setting? thanks....
@Warmspringsrezbuck Жыл бұрын
@@z06ix Sorry for the late response, I do not have any screws out on the top of the muzzlebrake. I mostly shoot prone and I didn’t want any muzzle jump. Also I do not have the brake set down with loctite or anything.

@Warmspringsrezbuck2 жыл бұрын
The new version of the Varmint 4.0 is the Banshee 30 titanium model it’s good for multi calibers from 17 hmr up to 300 Win magnums. But if your strictly use it for small calibers I would look into a small suppressor made for the lighter calibers. Multi use caliber suppressors are great for all rifles but for a 17 or 22 caliber would be a better suppressor in noise reduction for the light calibers. Thank you and please subscribe
