OK. How in the world does this video has such low views is beyond me. It's amazing. Swing needs a comeback!

The first live concert I ever saw was at 12 years old. Mom took me to see Les Brown and his Band Renowned at Miller Auditorium. I enjoyed their old swing records, but seeing a real big band on stage hooked me.

@@BAYBAY_316 All this got me reminiscing and I did a little research and discovered that Doris Day got vaulted to stardom by recording "Sentimental Journey" with this band, and Tony Bennett did his first major public appearance with them on a Bob Hope special. That's some good stuff on the resume!

Because it require listeners to intellectually tackle more than 2 chords and 7 notes. New generations just dont get it., It's chaos and noise to them

Wow what a voice and the music reveals a contemporary jazz beat that just makes the song pop with an easy listening melody. Great band just like the Nelson riddle orchestra. Yes sir awesome

For all those saying this is a difficult song, no it isn't. It is a very simplistic pop tune. Nothing technically challenging about it at all. The only difficulty is that the soloist must have upper register strength. Other than that, easy peasy.

Played this song in high school in the mid '70s. Brings back many memories. We also performed the Stan Kenton version which I didn't like nearly as well as Maynard's.
