While this video is titled to address acute wellness concerns (menstrual cycles, colds, etc) there is a fine line - where this video talks about confidence, headspace, and "feeling well" - between industry advice and ableism as it correlates wellness and beauty / feeling beautiful. There are those with chronic illness and disability who are going to fluctuate in various states of unwell that still need to navigate this journey in a body and mind *neutral* space, and if they are told to come back or reschedule when they are feeling "better" then that doesn't necessarily serve their needs. When there is open communication by the customer, a business should be able to navigate less than ideal circumstances during a pre scheduled event - particularly if a cancellation is at the cost of the guest- and if a business conveys otherwise perhaps they are not the best fit because their idea of a productive appointment reflects the ideals of the shop and does not reflect your self.

As a petite person, a skilled dressmaker/seamstress (bonus points if they're also petite, so they can relate to the pain 😂) is always worth the investment, especially for big events like weddings. Like you said in the video, it's important to see the proportion of the dress. I didn't wear a 'traditional' wedding dress when I got married, but for my brother's wedding, I had a custom-made mermaid dress. Now if I'd chosen the standard proportions, it would've looked off. So I requested my 'tail' to start around the middle of my thighs instead of my knees, and it worked really well. Now, I can alter clothes on my own, and I always, always go for the shoulders and take like 5cm in. The amount of wonders it does to my body is game changing.
