Do you have any more fottage of any NGG 13's?
@ChasCo24 Жыл бұрын
Sorry. I lost all my footage taken of the SAR narrow gauge when my home was completely destroyed but fire in 2017. What I previously posted on KZbin is all that is left.

@@ChasCo24 Oh I am sorry to hear that what a shame i am trying to find fottage and pictures of NGG13 NO 80

Love this footage. Wonder why they stopped before carrying on again. Before the days of triple headed diesels and 33 loaded wagons and no guards van.

I have just written a book on the Railway and would love to use a few of the video clips in a promotional video if possible. Please contact me if you can. I also can provide you with more descriptions of each shot if you like.

Hi Robert, Yes you can use clips from my Estcourt-Weenan video. Just give credit. Any possibility of getting a copy of your book? [email protected]

This is a nice video and thanks for taking the time to convert to video and publish it. However, I believe that the station is Ixopo (the main intermediate centre of traffic on the line) and not Highflats. Photos on the recently published Donnybrook line chapter of 'Soul of a Railway' back this up. sites.google.com/view/stuartstownrailway/home

How did the air wire conversion go? what board and stuff did you use?? I just bought one of these dcc ready and want to convert it to air wire
@ChasCo244 жыл бұрын
Hi. Honestly, I do not remember what Airwire board or Phoenix sound board I used in this loco. None of this exists anymore. Everything was destroyed in a wildfire in October 2017. I don't even live here anymore. Sorry I can't help you.

Seems like just as I'm getting into the hobby, all of the companies are out of business... :( Have only found one live steam maker so far, but none who make kits yet. How's this layout progressing? Any recent vids to share?

Yes, a Bachmann 3 trk shay I rebuilt to represent West Side No.7. The Bachmann shay came with the No.4 so I left it that way. The air pump and the steam water pump were scratch built from styrene. I have another one in the works to represent West Side No.15.

Nice video. That's a Bmann Shay right? Where did you get the cross compound air pump and steam water pump for the firemans side? I Just got an undec version that I want to make WS 15 from.

What a fantastic clip!!! Lovely railway and the stock looks incredible! The NG15 runs like a swiss watch and beautifully driven! Love the clips of your SAR stuff! Music is great too, goes with the "African" theme! Just superb!

Great track and great video! Lyd sure is a sweet runner! Think the NG15 also runs very very nicely on that track!
@ChasCo2410 жыл бұрын
Thanks Bryn. I am pleased with them although the video does not show all the servicing going on to keep them running. Lyd has a small so requires frequent stops to fill the water, steam oil and butane. The NG15 and the NGG16 have much larger boilers so they will run longer before requiring service.
@foreversteam10 жыл бұрын
Charles Collins Hah! Well I am a South African Steam man myself so definitely bias when it comes to SAR Steam. Definitely more vids on the NG15 and NGG16 - a nice double-header of the NGG16 and NG15 would be fantastic! Will you one day ballast your track?
