I should totally make a longer form video about this from my channel shouldn't I? This is a free-to-play mobile game called Monster Hunter Now (MH Now). It is made by Niantic, the same group behind Pokémon GO and utilizes many of the same ideas techniques and conceits. That being said, most people seem to think that this is the better of their games, and while I will admit it starts off for the first couple hours of play feeling quite free to play mobile game-ish, it starts to show its Monster Hunter nature more and more the more you play. At this point it's held my active play interest for almost two and a half months straight. And I'm completely free to play

You should make like a play through of this like make an alt account for multiple videos about this game from the beginning

@@Recky484 yep. I've played every Monster Hunter game from tri through the current generation. For rise and sunbreak I actually soloed all the way through anomaly investigation 300 level. My berserk DB build is absolutely psycho fun :-).

That is fair. Somehow in my lizard brain draining is not good because all the most dangerous enemies like orb of fire, lich, and everything extended Don't care about it. But that is a bad attitude for a three-rune run where 90% of your enemies are not those

I saw the GLC post! Exciting stuff, especially for the future. For grid it doesn't matter too much, but there's a million draft variants. Personally, If you made a Winston Draft site, I'd use it quite regularly!

I think in large part that is unavoidable. It's also by design - until you have a decent amount of time in game your deck is gonna be weaker and more vulnerable just like in any other RPG where you'd need to level up considerably to start being dangerous. My advice would be to exploit the format as much as possible. Shandalar decks are allowed to be draft-size (eg: 40 cards). So definitely cut your deck down to ~13 lands right off the bat. Real magic is played for 20hp games, but many monsters in Shandalar have closer to 10 at the start so prioritizing things that can burn or rushdown such opponents can be beneficial. Maybe prioritizing some haste creatures for 1-2mana, a lightning bolt, that sort of thing? Next save-scumming aside (eg: saving before each fight then reloaading if you lost), if you want to play straight-up then realize youre only losing money when you lose. Therefore focus on buying stuff with your money rather than floating more than 3k$. And you get 5-10 cards with wins, so use those as your deck-building and stores of value. Do you have a sense of what kind of deck you are trying to build? Think of it this way - just finding 4-5 cards of that deck means you're probably a athird the way there factoring in lands. Go to the color region that has the deck archetype / cards you're trying to build into. Every random encounter you're more likely to get more of that color, and stores are much more likely to have relevant singles. Also think more basic at first so that more cards help you out. An infinite turns blue control combo deck is going to require far more specific cards and interactions than a generic green "stompy" deck and thus be a lot harder to get online as your first. After you have your first "winning" deck you can start to branch out more. Good Luck! -AHMAD

Thank you so much for the sub! I've been playing Netrunner since the Genesis cycle back in the FFG days, so wonderful to get back into it and start making content.

It's admittedly could be a problem with the way I play, but as a rule of thumb my opening hand really only dictates the first turn or two of the game rather than the entire flow. Barring really bad situations where you are just flooded with agendas, you can always just draw a few new cards and the first turn is just a turn. What I'm really looking for is something to make sure I don't get criminal hit on HQ out the gate. Ice+Money means I'm going to have a smooth first couple turns. Opening without that can be much scarier
