There is a lovely 1 mile hike trail around this beautiful lake. Gentle ups and downs. Very peaceful, with lush forests. There is a path which splits off and opens out onto the expansive sand dunes - it's like an opening to another world.

Is there a source of cold water to cool it down? Just the one tub?

When I was in Oregon I wanted to see this but didn't get to I had to leave and my daughter had stayed there for 4 months with her boyfriend and they went to this place and I was surprised she crossed the bridge because she's afraid of heights. Such a beautiful place. That was back in 2012 and she ended up losing her phone in those ferns and forest. I have lost her since then so it pulls up my heart strings to see this place.

Be careful about germs! Been disrespect here regarding coliform bacteria. While hiking in several years ago, we met a fellow hiking out. When we approached the hot spring, there was a fresh human turd in the trail. Disgusting!

I lived in the town of Ukiah, which is the nearest town from there... we had a Wells family reunion at Ritter in the late 60's... my oldest sister worked at the hotel one summer... The Jordan family owned Ritter at that time... it was a really cool place to go to back then ... I now live in northern California and would love to go see it again.

Smdh that God you guys didn't find all the hotsprings before that NATURALLY HOT WATER THAT COMES OUT OF THE GROUND YOU DONT HAVE TO PAY FOR LIKE THE HUMANS BEFORE YOU .... actually no stay there. You guys are not welcome to the hidden gems. Keep paying 25-40 person for a hot pool you get at a hotel lmfao

I’ve seen some negative comments about Ritter regarding the Religious beliefs of the owners/management of the springs. Ritter is privately owned and operated. It is not a tourist attraction. It is run unlike any other place I have ever been. It is difficult to understand how or why someone could or would operate a spot like this on the honor system and at a very low cost. I have been to Ritter many times over the years for stays of a week or so at the private cabins and we have never been bothered by anyone about anything except a reminder that alcohol is prohibited. I enjoy a tipple now and then and I dare say that if you are discreet you just might get away with a sip on the sly. If you don’t like the rules, just stay away. Really, you won’t be missed.
