Thanks for this video. Going through a process of motor change now.70 yo, and having a tough time. I tore whole clip and fenders off junkyard truck, and will need to do this on my 1983 f150 . Not lookin forward to it, as could be very hard to put back in. You kept your cool far better than me!!! I yell and cuss and lose it !! 70yo and sick of having to fix myself, but learning much on YT!. Its a tough job no matter how we do it. No fun. Thanks for sharing. It helps.

I've always liked the Dakotas, they combine the shortcomings of a mid-size with the idiosyncrasies of a Chrysler product to always keep you guessing. I'm on my second Dakota, I drove a '98 until the wheels fell off, then swapped the motor into a '99 and kept going.

Did you fix the turn signal bulbs not being in sync if so how? That’s my current issue oh and for some reason my high beam is a low beam and low is high after swapping to led don’t get why

Did you use 2 cans? It works better if you do the prep right and later top coat it with some high gloss black paint. Herculiner is not really UV resistant and will dry out if you dont top coat it. Herculiner is great but its hard to remove. You have to use a blow torch and it likes to explode into little bits.

All things considered I'd say it holds up pretty decent for a do it yourself product. In my experience no bedliner is going to hold up to a cable being drug across it repeatedly. Plus, the areas that are chipped or scuffed could easily be touched up some weekend. I plan on using it in my truck and throwing a rubber mat back there. Your bed looks real good compared to mine though haha.

It’s just a 3 step process but you skipped the critical first step. The surface needs to be properly prepped for best adhesion. That means sanded down to uniformly scuff surface, wipe off paint dust then degrease with acetone. In your application video the liner was rolled on a nasty surface - it was a fail from the beginning

I empathize with you, as i am 70yo, and have always had to fix things by the seat of my pants, and often have to do thngs over and over, before i get them right, It is seldom easy, and i am no real mechanic, like my older bros were and my landlord is. I am a fool experimenting, to them!! Mine is a1983 F150, and now, the frame is rusting badly and affecting the tailgate badly on the passenger side. I can't weld and not sure if it can be welded, due to rust. I plan on running a ratcheting tie down, to bring the body, fender closer in, so the tailgate doesnt fall out down on the passenger side.. There is a gap there too big, due to rust and body.

Mine is doing the same thing I hit the top of the steering wheel and light went off air came back on and windows went to working so I guess it’s something in the steering wheel
